So the battle for the White House is moving across the country at a fast clip. Barack Hussein Obama is the first Black American running for the highest office in the country and standing beside him is his lovely wife and they have two children.
To that end, I was clearly shocked to read the fund raising letter from Mrs. Barack Hussein Obama regarding women and partial-birth abortion.
Note: What is a Partial Birth Abortion? From the usliberals.about.com:
Specific steps in the most commonly used partial-birth abortion procedure, Dilation and Extraction, are:
1. A medical professional induces a breech (feet first) delivery with forceps.
2. Legs, arms and torso of the fetus are delivered (i.e. expelled from the mother).
3. The back of the fetus’ skull is punctured with a scissors-like instrument.
4. A suction device is inserted into the skull.
5. The device sunctions out the contents of the fetus’ skull, causing the skull to collapse.
6. The lifeless fetus is delivered.

Dear Friends:
We have all been concerned lately with the rise of conservatism in this country, especially as it relates to women. You’ve read the alarming news about the Justice Department’s request for hospitals to turn over the private medical records of dozens of patients. This cynical ploy is designed to intimidate a group of physicians and force them to drop their lawsuit seeking to have the so-called partial birth abortion ban ruled unconstitutional.
The fact remains, with no provision to protect the health of the mother, this ban on a legitimate medical procedure is clearly unconstitutional and must be overturned. Attorney General Ashcroft and president bush believe so zealously in their cause that the privacy rights of patients are under assault. They believe we have no federal right to privacy when it concerns our medical histories.
Jo: So the privacy rights of patients outway the life of a child?
On March 16th, we have a chance to nominate a candidate who will be tireless in the fight to protect women. It isn’t simply about the right to choose, or privacy rights. It is about pay equity, about ending domestic violence, promoting health care around the world, and letting doctors decide treatment options, not federal judges.
Jo: I’m all for ending domestic violence, won’t happen, but there it is. I really don’t care about the health care “around the world,” let’s take care of health care in the US first please. Yes doctors should be able to decide treatment options, rather than judges, unless those choices destroy life. Don’t we put people in jail for murdering others?
It goes without saying that we must win back the U.S. Senate and hold our ground as a check against the right-wing executive branch. Illinois will be a key battleground and your vote is critical.
Jo: Liberals won back the Senate in 2006. They haven’t done anything of substance since.
My husband has stood up for women time and again, and I am proud of his record. He understands that casting a vote on the floor of the Senate takes greater courage than issuing a position paper. Oftentimes, a well intentioned law is in fact a flawed law. That’s why it is critical we nominate someone who has faced these tough choices. That’s why nominating an experienced legislator is so important in this race. It takes courage to cast a vote.
Jo: Sorry, in fact Mrs. Bill Clinton has more experience that BHO. I admit that because its fact, even if I don’t like her.
Who among the Democrats running has a proven record? Who among the candidates running for the Senate in Illinois has stood up to the right wing politicians and voted against their agenda? Who can we count on to keep the Bush/Ashcroft team from appointing the Supreme Court Justice that will vote against Roe v. Wade?
Please join me in sending a message of unity and strength by attending the Women for Obama Luncheon on February 23rd at the Hyatt Regency. Lunch costs $150 and includes remarks from our friends the Reverend Willie Barrow and Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky. To reserve your seat please call the campaign office headquarters at 312-427-6400 or log on to the Obama for Illinois Website.
I urge you to stand with me and support my husband at this event. You know the stakes have never been higher and we can’t depend on untested amateurs and administrators in this fight. Barack is a fighter and he will be a champion we can be proud of.
Jo: “Untested Amateurs”? Oh please … there are pages in the US Senate with more experience.
Thanks you so much for all of your support.
Signature: Michelle Obama
Yes, this women who has had two children supports partial birth abortion. How sad.
Oh, back to that article at usliberals.about.com, the “personal” reasons for having a partial birth abortion:
Common Logistical and Personal Reasons for Partial Birth Abortions
– Lack or lack of recognition of pregnancy symptoms, particularly by adolescents
– Inability to afford a first trimester abortion
– Inability to locate medical assistance during first trimester (due to lack of local medical professionals)
– Lack of financial resources, emotional support, and/or partner
– The first one is just so laughable its not funny.
– Does a final trimester abortion cost less than a first trimester aborton?
– So if you live in an area without medical professionals, or may have to drive *gasp* an hour or so to get to one, you just rip the life out of a child? I’ve driven further to be treated for my thyroid condition because it is important. Inconvenience is not an option for murder.
– No money? You know what folks - abstinence is free.
So there you have it, the woman and mother who wants to be the First Lady of this country believes in the murder of unborn children for “inconvenicene” or “financial” reasons.
Wonderful, just wonderful.
I’m going to go throw up now.

Just hearing the description of a PBA should be enough to be against it.
That said, having two children myself I cannot FATHOM how anyone who has given birth or witnessed a birth can possibly be for PBA.
Being pro-abortion is one thing, but supporting such a hideous procedure is unreal.

Barack Obama is clearly the extremist in this election. I wonder how much that willmatter given his amazing rhetorical skills.

I don’t support PBA; however, what if the life of the mother depended on it? Does the current law have a provision to allow it IF it were necessary to save a mother’s life (e.g., if there are pregnancy complications)? It’s unclear to me.

Thanks, Jo, for covering this!
And, if you’ll allow me to use a little imagination….I’d like to submit a possibility that I’ve heard no one suggest, thus far.
If what I suggest has some factual basis….it would certainly explain Michelle Obama’s sickening defense of such a horrendous “procedure.”
First — the facts:
– The Obama’s have been married about 16 years
– The Obama’s are both educated, successful professionals, and are fairly wealthy
– They have two children, both daughters,
ages 9, and 6
– Michelle Obama is the product of two black parents
– Barack Obama is the product of one black parent, and one white parent
– By her own words, Mrs. Obama does not want the Justice Dept. to have access to the records of partial birth abortions
–Statistically, wealthy, successful, mature, happily married women…are generally not the type to have late term abortions.
Now, for the possibilities:
– Is it possible that the medical records regarding partial birth abortions, might include the name — Michelle Obama?
— And, if so, what might have been her reason for a late term abortion(s)?
One more fact:
– The Punnett Square is a handy scientifically-based tool, used to show the possible genotypes and phenotypes of offspring, from known parentage
– This is the Square showing genotypes/phenotypes for the offspring of a black mother, and a black/white father (*note: the subjects are rodents, but it’s still pretty compelling material )
BB BB
Bb Bb
This represents that out of each four offspring, two will be black and two will be black/white.
– The Obama’s have two black daughters.
So…what are the odds of that?

abortion is sick!

To Christine,
Who asked about considering the health or life of the mother:
How could KILLING the child AFTER it’s already been delivered save the life of the mother?! It makes no sense! It’s already gestated for many, many weeks (and in some cases PBA’s have been performed on the day the baby was due)and has already been delivered, ALIVE, up until that “doctor” sucks its brains out. No, the only damage that could be done to the mother at that point is the crippling emotional damage she will suffer after the procedure is done.
August 18th, 2008 at 6:11 am
Alli, rein in the nastiness … Christine asked a valid question. Was there a provision in the bill that put the life of the mother first? And remember this, the mother is the person who decides what happens - even if the law allows for her life to be spared, that doesn’t mean she would chose that option.

Jo, IMO, there should be no provisions made anywhere. Abortion in all its forms is murder. Period.
August 21st, 2008 at 9:42 pm
Michelle Obama is disgusting for condoning “Partial-Birth Abortion”. Anyone who votes for her husband must be aware that his thinking probably parallels hers.
I don’t know about anyone else, but one of the main reasons that I didn’t vote for John Kerry for president a few years back was his “Cafone” of a wife, Teresa Heinz-Kerry. And remember,………..”You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.”
August 26th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
“The mother’s life” is a straw-man when discussing partial-birth abortion. It is, by definition, a late-term, past the point of viability “procedure.” So, if the mother’s life is indeed in danger, then there’s is NO reason why the baby can’t be delivered alive. Yes, the baby might be quite young and need a hospital stay, and might not survive, but if mom is say 26 weeks pregnant and has severe, life threating pre-e, then deliver the baby and do your best to save it. There’s NO reason that would necessitate out right murder of the baby.
IMO, the “health of the mother” exception for partial-birth abortion is a cover to kill babies found to have problems later in the pregnancy (even easily corrected problems such as clefts and clubbed feet).
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Ok, first of all, nice inclusion of Barack Obama’s middle name in everything! Very subtle! Secondly, women should NOT be addressed by their husband’s name; they are individuals in their own right, and should be respected as such. There is NO evidence that Michelle or barack Obama have ENDORSED PBAs. They have merely suggested that it may be crucial to the mother’s life to end the pregnancy. It is far more cruel to deliver a child before 36 weeks of gestation, only to watch it struggle for life. A life, by the way which will be plagued with disability if it (on the slim chance) survives. This is a decision to be left between a woman and her doctor.
It is funny that the same conservatives who would have all abortions banned also do not support any social programs for families that are underpriviliged. I find it interesting that conservatives claim to care so much about a fetus, but routinely vote to not offer any monetary support thereafter.
Lastly, if we were teaching our young Americans the value of responsible sexual activity instead of deluding ourselves with “Abstinence Only” education, maybe we would have less abortions to worry about! Just ask your dear friend Sarah Palin!

Oh dear Kristin, what a dangled liberal web you have been sucked into.
Read this: http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/warner-todd-huston/2008/08/13/obama-lied-about-vote-against-live-birth-abortion-ban-media-mum
When Obama introduced himself to the world, he used his middle name — it’s his name.
“Secondly, women should NOT be addressed by their husband’s name”
That’s your opinion - the majority of the married women in this country go by their husband’s name DUH! I bet your mom does!
Why should my tax money go to support a child that someone chose to have? It’s a choice. I do not belive in a Nanny State dear Kristin, that’s what you liberals believe in.
And as for you cheap shot at the end about Mrs. Palin - that’s the best you can do to justify your position? ROFL!!! You liberals are so see through.
Your candidate believes that babies born alive during an attempted abortion should BE KILLED - that my dear liberal is called MURDER. That’s who you’re voting for - someone that believes in murder. Say’s a lot about you doesn’t it?
