Local Pedophile Update
The martial arts teacher from a local school was charged here.
This morning’s report from the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer is a plea of guilty.
Man admits to molestation
Karate teacher gets 18 years for touching, videotaping studentsJonathan Hyung Boyd, a renowned martial arts competitor, sobbed his apology as he pleaded guilty Thursday to several counts of child molestation.
“I’m truly sorry that I’ve put everyone through this,” said Boyd, 24, who molested and videotaped several boys he taught as a karate instructor. “I know what it’s like to go through pain. I hate that I’ve affected people in this way.”
Prosecutors had offered the Columbus man 20 years in prison for a plea to five counts of child molestation, three counts of exploitation of children and one count of invasion of privacy, but he decided to plead “cold,” or without an agreement between attorneys. Muscogee County Superior Court Judge John Allen sentenced him to 18 years in prison followed by 12 years on probation.
Of course this is telling:
A videotape made by Boyd of boys showering and a diary he wrote about his feelings toward a boy were also found, said Assistant District Attorney Maggie Bagley.
Defense attorney Julia Slater pointed to the diary as being indicative of her client’s mental health. The end of the diary has blood splotches and the words “Why can’t I die? Why?” scrawled inside.
“He never meant to hurt anybody, and he needs help,” she said.
Remember in the liberal world, the criminal is never at fault, but they have some “condition”, “illness”, “are oppressed by society,” etc – whatever the flavor of the week is to blame everyone but the crook.

Always be careful of coaches, teachers and ministers — not necessarily in that order. Married, unmarried — doesn’t matter

“Why can’t I die? Why?â€
Obviously, he had neither the motivation nor the intestinal fortitude to achieve his goals.

Well, was his orientation not at all straight? He probably had trouble actually building relationships with men and women his own age. Usually that is the case when grown men are sexually and emotionally impaired believing that relationships with children and underaged teens are acceptable. I believe this is a self-image problem as well as an illness. I studied psychology for 4 years and this is definately an illness that he has. He has a journal and he wrote in the end of it how he wants to die. He is having difficulty in developing a relationship with people his age, by having these children that look up to him he aspires feelings of passion and intimacy believing that the relationship he has with these children are imaginary as it is illusionally, a developed relation. However the boys in this case did not seem to convey this response, all they see him as is a karate instructor. Boyd seems to have trouble in developing close relations as well as understanding or admitting to his sexual orientation and apparently putting him jail will only worsen his acts. He needs help. I know he has victimized these children and it is unfair, but in the next 20 years it could be anyones children and locking him up and putting away the key just doesn’t seem to solve most problem. For example there was one case in which a man had been sentenced and after three decades he actually murdered a child and was given life. He may have been put away, but what about the child that was murdered here. Prison would only make the man become as worse as he already is. What he should be getting is pyschiatric help as well as pyschological doctors along with probation. They need to find some sort of solution as an alternative. Those convicted in prison in about two decades or more are more changed and become more violent due to the conditons as well as the treatments that are endured there. Let me say again I have majored in pyschology and law and am going to major in social juticed and I am only 21. I have worked with many convicted offenders as well as murders and most of them have some sort of mental pattern disorder and they dwell on it for much of there lives, some apparently growing up in the same acts that they put upon innocent children. I personally hate what they do, but I can’t go around being God. Boyd has an illness and I know it is ,illusion of a relationship between a child and having trouble coping with his career and time to deal with men and women his age. These are social pattern illnesses.
