KUWAIT CITY: Twenty per cent of Kuwait’s population suffers from diabetes, says consultant of endocrine gland and diabetes in the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital, Dr Waleed Al-Dhahi. Indicating the Health Ministry’s standards for treating diabetes in the Kuwait hospitals are still inadequate, Al-Dhahi explained, “this is because it does not depend on an integrated team for treatment of diabetes.†“There is also a certain amount of dependency on nurses who do not speak Arabic and this is also another major reason for Kuwait not being as ‘developed’ in the treatment of this disease,†he added. more…
