Erwich shows up at the terrorist underground lair, where they meet up with another terrorist. He chews Erwich out for “wasting the gas” and makes him pay for it with his life. Nathinson drives off and calls Alpha 7 – tells him to destroy the evidence, but is shot.

Lynn calls his sister demanding his key card to CTU. Sister’s boyfriend, Duane, tells her to let him handle it. He’s looking through Lynn’s wallet.

Logan on the phone to Lynn, do you have the nerve gas or any leads? No sir. I put this on you McGill. We are no where. Stop making excuses, take responsibility and do your job. Bill briefs everyone. But we don’t have any real leads. If Jack had followed orders, we wouldn’t be in this situation. He saved lives. Lynn gets snippy with Audrey. Why does she keep defending Bauer? Lynn orders Jack back to CTU to face charges in defying his the president’s orders. Bill says Jack can be disciplined later. Lynn tells Bill not to tell him how to do his job. He wants Jack there in 10 minutes. Bill calls Curtis and tells him to bring Jack in. Curtis tells Jack Lynn is on the war path. Curtis believes Jack made the right call. Jack is going to call the president. Curtis says let’s go back to CTU. Curtis takes Jack’s gun.

Audrey takes a call from James Nathinson. He wants to talk to Jack on a clean line. I know all about you Ms. Raines. I can help you find this nerve gas. Are you telling the truth? Put me through to Bauer. Audrey does it. She tells him who is on the phone, Walt’s contact, has information. I want protection, the terrorists are trying to kill me. Walt Cummings is not the only inside the government man. What makes you think I won’t kill you myself? Because you want to stop the gas. Meet me in 10 minutes.

Our hero doesn’t go with Curtis easily. Punch, choke hold and out of the SUV. Of course Jack has manners and apologizes. He takes Curtis’ SUV and gun to meet Nathinson.

Lynn gets a call from Curtis that Jack’s escaped. I can’t track him. How could you let this happen? Chloe run a triangulation on Jack’s cellphone. Audrey have you talked to Jack? No. No signal from Jack’s cell. Audrey tells Chloe what Jack is doing, asks her to delete the phone call from Nathinson to Jack. Lynn looks at Audrey’s logs. Chloe dumps the whole log, Audrey tells her to do it. Lynn sees it while it’s happening. He’s pissed.

Mike has a call for the president on Walt’s phone. The caller claims he has the gas. Put it on speaker. Erwich is no longer with us. What do you want? What I want to do is release the gas in Moscow. I’m forced to strike on foreign soil – with your help. I want Suberoff’s route and his security detail. I want to hurt our Russian oppressors, but if you don’t help, I’ll release the gas in something more than a shopping mall. Give me the route in 15 minutes. Mike tells him he can’t let that him. Give me the route Mike.

Someone screwing with Lynn, he won’t tolerate it. Audrey’s phone logs were erased. She got a call from Jack before this. Bill, what is their history? They worked at DOD. What difference does their relationship have to do with anything? When did she find out Jack was alive? You sound paranoid. I don’t care. Bill doesn’t want to hear anything from Lynn about it. Then why did Audrey erase the phone call from Jack?

Jack stops where Nathinson told him to, he calls him. Where are you? Go down the alley, through the gate. I don’t know what you think I can do for you, but you have committed treason. How can you justify killing Palmer? We need a reason to secure our interests in oil in Asia. Go through the door – helicopter on the roof. Hostiles coming in. Do you have a weapon? Make your way to the roof, I’ll meet you there.

Bill talks to Audrey. He tells him about Lynn’s grilling about her knowing Jack and their relationship. How is that any of his business? She tells him about the guy that called wanting to talk to Jack about the terrorists. I don’t know where Jack is. Chloe knows about it, helped with the call. Lynn walks up on them. Tells her the threat level has been raised. He wants to work with her at her station.

Jack and Nathinson running. Shooter in the building, Nathinson takes him out. More shooters after Nathinson in the building. Lots o’ gun fire! Up to the roof, Jack moving up to the roof too. Shooters on the roof, Nathinson running – he’s hit. He fires back. No one hears all this? Jack shoots from above the roof, takes out the other shooters. The helicopter has a shooter – spray and pray. Jack fires back. Jack takes out the helicopter – 2 points for Jack! Nathinson – where are the canisters. In my pocket, a thumb drive. Nathinson dies. What’s on the chip??? Jack puts it in his phone.

The terrorist in the chopper tells his boss about Nathinson being dead and that Jack was there. Keep trying to find Jack.

Lynn and Audrey working at her station. The phone rings. It’s Jack – she transfers him to Chloe. What is going on? Lynn is shadowing her. He has a thumb drive, uploading to her socket. Keep it from Lynn until we know what we got. Call me back on the number that came up.

Mike has the route and security detail and hands to Logan. If Suberoff is killed here, it would be an act of war. Martha walks in on them talking – What attack? It’s nothing you need to be concerned about. Tell me what’s going on. Logan tells her. You’re not seriously considering it are you? Mike tries to talk to Martha but she cuts him off – let him speak for himself. Martha if I don’t give them the information they want, 100,000 of people will die on American soil. Delay the route. We can’t – they are watching. You can’t let this happen Charles – you’re talking about murder. My back is up against the wall. Give me another solution? Stand up to them. It’s not that simple, it never is.

Chloe tries to decode the thumb drive. She calls Bill. The thumb drive is DOD formatted and Audrey is the only one that can decrypt it. He distracts Lynn so Chloe can get help from Audrey. Audrey gives her the DOD codes to decrypt the thumb drive. Bill sees her do something, demands to know what she was doing. He starts yelling. This is a deliberate attempt to circumvent my authority. He tells Audrey that if her father wasn’t the Sec Def he’d have her removed, but he can remove Bill, which his does. Lynn starts yelling at everyone. He mirrors everyone stations to his station. Audrey tells Lynn he’s jeopardizing the finding of the nerve gas. Lynn tells her not to threaten him.

Chloe calls Jack and gives him the information on the thumb drive. Company called Tyradine, Locan Yata, Omagran International, a subsidiary. Christopher Henderson, senior vice president of research and development for Omagran. Can’t send the information to you because Lynn is watching everyone and Bill is in holding. Lynn is losing it – too much pressure. Get me the files somehow.

Mike tells the President that the Russian president is waiting for them. Please Martha, this is difficult for me. I’m praying CTU finds the canisters before they leave. I need you to understand. I do Charles. Walt’s cell phone rings. Mike answers. The Russian President and his wife say goodbye. The photographers are waiting ladies. Mike gives the terrorist the motorcade route. Martha, just smile and wave. Martha is freaking out. Lynn is calling from CTU, needs to talk to the President now. Martha wants to go with the Russian President, Aaron tries to stop her. He will ride up front. The motorcade leaves.
