This is “not” a word for word recap. This hits the highlights, but I do leave some of it out.

We start out with Jack, Walt the sleaze and the President. Logan is yelling at Walt – like you got a backbone. “They are threatening to use it on American citizens? What was your goal Walt?” “We are patriots!”

Chloe calls in, sets up for the trace. Walt – call Nathan. Dial. Lines are disconnected, nothing to get a hold of. Jack thinks Walt is telling the truth. He can’t help us anymore. The terrorists are acting on their own now.

Jack looks, uh, pissed. Logan – what do we do now? Jack says he’s leaving. Kim doesn’t know I’m alive. I don’t think she should know. The terrorists have the ability to kill millions. We need you Jack. I know you respect this office, even if you don’t respect me – and you respect the country Jack. I will reinstate you. For God’s sake!! We need to recover this nerve gas.

Terrorist can’t arm the nerve gas. Boohoo Let’s not waste time using it against the Americans. Don’t question my orders or you’ll eat this gun.

Lynn gets a phone call from some blonde on a pay phone. I need help. I’m clean Lynn. $500 should do it. Don’t come here. His sister? A doper?

Bill has the schismatic to the canister. The terrorists have invalid codes. Are we running evacuation plans? We can trace calls. Civil defense says an explosion will create a kill zone 20 square miles – each.

A friend in Moscow calls the terrorist. I can reconfigure the canister. Cut into it and I will help.

Logan has reinstated Jack. Chloe has a trace on the terrorist phone call. They are reconfiguring the triggers. It’s Erwick. It’s down town. Get Bauer on the phone. A lead.

Penthouse. Software programmer. Running out of time. Jack in the air. I need Curtis with a small team.

Chloe needs Spenser. He’s the best hacker. Jack calls Audrey. You will be exposed since you’ve been reinstated. Audrey – find Kim. Doesn’t know, don’t want her to find out the wrong way. Bring her into CTU, keep her there until I get back. No problem.

A semi and a motorcycle shop – uh? Looking for a tool to cut metal. Where is everyone? Lunch – gun, do it and you’ll live.

Logan yelling into the phone – where is Jack? What is going on? Martha walks in the room, quietly. Feels well, considering her husband was going to have her committed. We use to be a good team – you remember. You need me Charles and everything I can do. Slap. Ouch – the president has a red face now. Mike knocks. I panicked Mike. I owe you an apology. Resume your duties Mike. We have to deal with Walt. I want Martha to stay. Let’s keep Walt out of sight for now. If we go public, the creditability of the office will be at stake. Will the public forgive? Not if they’re laid too. Should the press be notified?

Spenser back to Station 3 – we don’t have much time. We need your help, Chloe doesn’t forgive. Get to work Spenser. Shut up Spenser, Chloe doesn’t care.

Jack landing. Curtis waits. Chloe do you copy. Spenser? What? Give me the guys position. He’s in the penthouse. Two guards.

Cutting into the canisters. 10 cm from the bottom of the casing. Be careful. Call me back when done.

In position, Chloe – go. Eyes closed. Federal Agent – hands. 4063# In the elevator. Eyes open. Somethings wrong. Geez a square badge doing their job? Terrorist, stay in your office. Guards are suspicious Jack – Federal Agents — GUN FIRE! Go Jack Go! Curtis is hit. Terrorist moving at 9 o’clock. Jack fires – drop the weapon. Terrorist is in custody – back up, need a medic. Not alone. Room search. Hands NOW! Oh great another damn female to add to the mix. I want to go home. Tears.

Nerve gas canister – don’t cut all the way through. Don’t worry what’s in them – do what I say. Where is your wife? When we’re done, we will leave. The cutting begins.

Jack helps the girl. You’re safe. Don’t give the terrorist anything for pain. Bandage only. What did Erwick want? I want a lawyer. Yeah right. He has nerve gas – US in danger. Jack has a problem? No – the terrorist has a problem. What did he want you to do? “Trust me you don’t want to go down this road with me.” Go .. to … hell. Oops – wrong answer. WHERE IS ERIWICK? Terrorist must like pain – wants immunity, transport, unfreeze my assets. NOT! The girl comes with me. That’s the deal. What deal? Haa haa Lynn tells Jack to take the deal. Lynn leaves – for the junkie? You’re in the middle of a national crisis and you leave???? Not one of them certified agreements again, please .. didn’t we do this with someone else?

Erwick’s location unknown. Don’t know what he looks like. Someone from Russia gave him his name. Reconfigure the trigger. Jack wants the chip.

Bill, where is the agreement? Few minutes. Girl went missing 19 months ago. Kidnapped. Age 15. Sex trade. Oh hell .. here we go again Jack! You can’t take the girl. Part of the deal, she comes with me or no deal.

Spenser, Edgar will finish your work. You don’t work here anymore. We don’t need you. Leave Spenser, don’t cry like a baby — be a man. Edgar smiles.

Martha writes Charles’ speech to the nation. Can Mike see it? I think it’s the right move. Thank you for letting me help. Mike calls – come here sir. Walt did himself in? We can only hope.

Still cutting away at the canister. Top is off. 1431263.

Martha and Charles walking toward Mike, and we see Walt strung up. Cut him down. Some patriot you were Walt – coward.

Lynn meets his junkie sister. You got the money. No. Go to a doctor. Hit from behind. Takes the money from his wallet. Leave on a motorcycle.

Jack calls Audrey. Where is Kim? I can’t find her. Left a message. Girl wants to call family. You have to go with the terrorist. Just for now. You will be followed. Agents will take you away from him. He won’t be alone with you. No – I won’t do it. I wouldn’t either. You are no different than the terrorist. I won’t let anything happen to you. And the famous Jack Bauer words “I promise.”

Canisters are done. Cutter is shot. Load ‘em up. Call for instructions. Keys coming to you. Reprogram in 10 minutes. Where do we meet? Wire him up. I’ll get the girl. Time to go.

Got his gun. Shoots. Dead. Only link to terrorists is dead.
