“God Bless America” Proposed on Car Tags
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The phrase “God Bless America” would be added to Alabama’s already crowded vehicle license plates if a bill proposed by a state legislator becomes law.
Representative Steve Hurst has prefiled a bill in the Alabama House that would require most Alabama car tags to include the phrase “God Bless America.” Some specialty license plates and motorcycle tags would be exempt.
The Munford Democrat says he got the idea when the saw the words “God Bless America” on a specialty prisoner of war car tag. Hurst says having it on the tags will let all the people in America know that “we are a Bible Belt state.”
Atheist Law Center president Carol Moore of Columbiana says her organization would oppose Hurst’s bill. She says it’s “entirely inappropriate to have it plastered over license plates.” Hurst says “God Bless America” would not replace anything currently on Alabama car tags. State law requires that the phrase “Heart of Dixie” be on Alabama plates.

No crap ACLU will have a fit! They’re ALWAYS complaining about something! *sigh* Dont get me started on that… organization.
It’s not surprising, and to me it’s appropriate, that religion is counterattacking. ACLU and other God-less organizations have been trying to change the traditions of our nation for all of my lifetime (about half a century). Fine, character-building organizations such as the Boy Scouts should not have to fight for the right to use public parks and public school auditoriums. Organizations proven to be effective at administering relief efforts should not face challenges because they include worship of God in their mission statement. Prison fellowship programs that succeed in rehabilitating hard-core criminals shouldn’t have to defend their existence in court because they promote Christianity.
ACLU wants our nation to give up the very beliefs that made us strong. I won’t give in without a fight.

God, I love Alabama! I can’t wait to get a plate with God Bless America on it! Stupid atheist activists need to just go take a hike back to New York and California where they came from.
