I sure hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving day. The CSM and I didn’t move from the house - vehicle wise anyway.
The morning started out with me getting up at 5:45 am. This is normal since I’m usually up at 6 am every day anyway. I figured I’d just use the little girl’s room, test my blood sugar (coming in at a great 84 btw) and go back to bed.
NOT!
After finishing up the first event, I went to flush. Everything went as normal EXCEPT the tank didn’t refill. UH? I went to wash my hands and got nothing but air. Holy Smokes batman! I stumble around over dogs and dog toys to find my a) cell phone and b) old water bill. Found the first, couldn’t find the second. Turn on the lights you dunce
I had my system up so got on the White Pages and found the number. After two rings someone answers. “Ah, at XXXXX, we have no water?” “Are you off XXX Road?” “Yes” “There has been a report of a fire hydrant hit by a car, we are on the way there now.” “Thank you for coming out on Thanksgiving and fixing this for us.” Now, back to bed or stay up. By this time I was wide awake and sleep wouldn’t come anyway. First thing I need is coffee. Out to the garage and into the water stash. I fill the coffee pot, grind some beans and the day starts. So much for cleaning up the kitchen before the cooking starts.
So for the next 3 or 4 hours, I sit here and play on Pogo, talk to Tre via IM and just hope. The water guy drove by one time so out the door I went. I don’t even want to imagine what he thought of me with my hair standing straight up, but he wasn’t any better. He was checking our front yard as we have a feeder line from the main water line that leaks. They are set to come out and fix it soon and he thought maybe it had finally burst. Fortunately no. Oh and there was no busted fire hydrant or car accident. Seems there was another report of a yard flooding, so that’s why he was there. About an hour later the water finally came on and we were set for the day.
About 11:30 I started the ham cooking and the CSM laid down for at Thanksgiving Day nap. Three hours later, I was making the candied yams and green bean casserole. Wake up the snoring CSM and fill the plates. We sit down to eat and watch the movie “The Polar Express”.
Time for me to take a nap. Me and Bubba snuggled up in the bed and I was out like a light.
At 8 pm, the CSM woke me up to take my shot and Survivor was coming on. After watching that and CSI, the CSM lays back down to sleep. He’s going hunting this morning and I watched Carpool Guy. If you are a soap fan and missed this, you missed a treat.
So after that was over around 1 am, I headed off to bed.
So how was your day?
