Well, seems ol’ evil Glenn at Instapundit has made a few people mad at him. Actually folks - they are mad as HELL!!!
This is why:

BOOKS LIKE THIS ONE ON THE ACLU, which I just got in the mail, are probably no worse than the myriad of hatchet jobs done in the past on, say, the NRA or (more recently) the Federalist Society. But I think that demonizing the ACLU is a bit silly. I do feel that they’ve become overly partisan in recent years, but they still do good work (I’ve worked with them in the past, on the New Orleans rave case for example, and will probably do so again.)posted at 11:27 AM by Glenn Reynolds
Well anyone that has been around this blog at all knows that I don’t take kindly at all to the ACLU. It does not matter one iota if they do one thing good — because all the bad they have done, and stand for, outweighs any good dead done.
Kit from Euphoric Realty puts it this way:
Is Glenn making nice-nice for the sake of popularity? I know he’s got to be more intelligent than to actually think the ACLU is good for anything, or that their goals have anything to do with what conservatives believe in. How can any conservative worth his or her salt see the ACLU as anything besides what it is - a lions’ den of leftist thought that makes it a point to attack anything good and true and right. They are anti-American, anti-truth, anti-good. They are, quite literally, an evil organization. They support child molesters, approve of the “homosexualization” of the United States, and fight for everything sane people with morals are against. They support CAIR, the American version of al Qaeda. (If that’s not enough to tell you there’s a problem here, then you need to read this blog more.) In almost any court case that makes conservatives want to bang their heads against a wall, chances are good that the ACLU was involved.
So now there is a call to arms, or legs, or blogging tools, whatever — but there is a call to remove Instapundit from the blogrolls of those that do NOT support the ACLU. No problem there, this blog never had him on the blog roll, and I actually never read anything he posted. No biggy for me, but this post is in support of the Stop the ACLU blog and what John is doing.
Now I see you pointing at the link on Glenn’s name going “You linked to him!!!! Hypocrite!!!!” WRONG little one, that link may take you to the Instapundit site, but alas, Evil Glenn does not get the credit — Basil does. See, I use Basil’s Link Whoring trick and give him all the hits when I don’t want to directly link to a nasty ass site.
(BTW, has anyone noticed, Basil won’t tell anyone else how to do this so we can be link whores too? :wink
Either way — I support John in this. I cannot support the ACLU period. One good deed a century does not make for a good organization or erase the evil inside them.

I bet the ACLU comes a-runnin’ if the authorities ever manage to start arresting and prosecuting the looters in New Orleans and Mississippi. “Violating their civil rights” and all.

Ah, but do you REALLY want to read a post that talks about functions, the ‘toLowerCase()’ method, the ’slice()’ method, the ‘if’ command, the ‘elseif’ command, the ‘else’ command, reading ‘window.location.href’, and ‘writing location.href’ ??
I didn’t think so.
Remember the old joke about the lady who called the dishwasher repairman?
He came in, looked at the dishwasher, pulled out a hammer, tapped the dishwasher once, and it started working.
Then, he gave her a bill for $50.00
Not wanting to pay $50.00 for nothing more than a tap, she decided to put pressure on him by asking him to itemize the bill. Which he did:
1 tap: $1.00
Knowing where to tap: $49.00

Basil, you’re a stinker — but a cute one at that, and I’d much rather give you the hits than anyone else — since you are at least kind enough to include me on occasion in your links.

Jo, you & Basil are brilliant. I love this. The ACLU must be dealt with.
well I can’t belive that the whole blogasphere knows about it , gee it spread like wild fire ..lol I was just at the truth laid bears site and there is a link about it there also .. and Basil is a cute stinker … so anyway I am courious to see how many delink him ..
These are the facts of life that the ACLU seems to hate:
1. America was founded by Christians and continues to be defined by a large majority of it’s citizens as a Christian nation.
2. Americans, to a great degree, love the symbols that remind us of our Country’s special relationship with God. That illuminated cross on the hill, the cross decorated memorials, and the icons and scripture in our public places give us faith in America’s future.
3. Given points 1 and 2, Americans, in the whole, despise the ACLU who cannot understand why.
Not a more clear viewpoint could be placed about the ACLU
the very root seems to srtive to tear apart the fabric of this countries primal basic beliefs. An insurgency of separatism that pollutes and decays my constitution of the United States. No group is more of a stain on the American flag than the ACLU, except maybe the cowardly people who support the ACLU.
