Of course I’m getting my morning dose of Fox News and they are talking about the constitution in Iraq and then switch to Cindy Sheehan in Texas. The leftist pundit they bring on, this really nice looking guy who when he opens is mouth spews the leftist drivel, asked why President Bush couldn’t spend “one hour with this grieving mother“?
Well, besides the fact that he’s already DONE it … what would it accomplish? Nothing. If he broke down now and met with her AGAIN, it would prove the leftist moonbats could extort a president to do their bidding.
But — this is the question that was floating through my head when I was listening to it — one I don’t have the answer to, and hope you all can help me find it.
When did then President Clinton personally, one on one, meet with the grieving military families of those that lost their lives under his administration? You know, the ones that had family in Somalia? Bosnia? Hmmmm
Help me out here.

Of course you are right about Clinton and how he treated the military. My hubby is of the opinion that because he took us into the Bosnia situation we are dealing with the Muslim terrorists now. Bill and Hill were too busy using the military personnel at the White House as butlers for their dinners.

Don’t know that Slick Willie ever met with wounded GI’s or the families of those who fell. I suppose he probably did, though I imagine he got a frosty reception.
Jo, you’re dead right: if the pres met with Mrs. Sheehan now, it wouldn’t be a question of meeting with a grieving mother: it would be a political event and every person who has a real or perceived grievence would be camped out at Crawford from now until W leaves office.
I think losing her son unhinged her a little.

I haven’t even made any commentary on my blog about Cindy S. yet because I’m still trying to figure out if she’s genuinely lost a few marbles over the loss of her son, or if she’s just an anti-war a-hole who’s enjoying her 15 minutes of fame. Seriously, I’m not ready to make either judgement yet. If it’s the former, my heart would be breaking for the woman, but it it’s the latter, she deserves all the harsh judgement she’s getting. Blog ON, friend…

If it’s grief that is causing her to behave as she is doing, it still doesn’t change what she is doing: dishonoring her son.
She’s acting like a 60s hippy who can’t get it through her head that we left Vietnam 30 years ago and haven’t had a draft since then.
I think she will someday very much regret her behavior and words.
