I’m still fighting with high blood pressure medications. The third one has now turned on me (sigh).  Having to take something, so been cutting the first medication in half until doc can get me something that doesn’t hate me.  Beta Blockers are not good for diabetics, but it may be something for me to take in the interim as long as I watch my sugar levels closely.  (The SGM is on beta blockers and I’ve dipped into his a couple days, but Tricare is going to have a fit when he goes for a refill too soon.)

I’m so tired when I get home all I do is eat, stay awake long enough to take my Lantus at 8 pm and then off to bed.  High Blood Pressure wears you out!  You all watching the D.N.C.?   I haven’t watched a minute of it (unless you count the snippets I see on Fox N’ Friends.)

The Clinton’s are sucking the air out of The O Show in Denver.  I was in bed by 8:30 pm so didn’t hear a word Mrs. Bill said.   I’m catching it on Fox N Friends - and yes, I can stand to listen to her voice a heckava lot more than I can Michelle “I am finally proud of my country” or her hubby The O.

Sounds like Mrs. Bill took the night with her speech.   She seemed poised, in control and looked amazing!  The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantsuits (snort) that tickled me. 

Bill is up tonight.   This should be interesting.

No matter how much I dislike the Clinton’s (wouldn’t trust ‘em to walk my dog) they are more experienced in the ways of Washington (and the world) than O ever will be.  

For two nights, The O is taking a back seat to the largest political machine since the Kennedy’s. 

If he can be rolled over for the Clinton’s - where will he be when Iran comes knocking?

Glucose Tablets for Lows

I have been having issues with my high blood pressure medication, so really sick and tired of hearing about them.  BUT now this: “Popular BP drugs may cause diabetes“.   Great - just great.  

If you are hypertensive and have been prescribed one of the widely used class of medicines called beta blockers—drugs like atenolol, inderal and metaprolol— you could be running an unacceptable risk of diabetes.

Just so happens, the SGM is on atenolol and my doctor won’t put me on it because it supposedly masks low sugar symptoms.  Now I have to worry about him becoming a diabetic?   Rats.   Not happy being a diabetic this week with all the mess going on with my medications - so sorry for the downer right off the top.

Its been 86 years since insulin was first used on Type 1 patients.   Although we are still hunting a cure, at least with insulin, people with T1 can live normal lives.

So, now we can’t drink the water?   I’m waiting for the day these people tell us that breathing is bad for us and we need to stop.  “Arsenic in Water May Be Tied to Diabetes“

Higher-than-average levels generally occur in workplaces, near or in hazardous waste sites, and in areas with high levels naturally occurring in soil, rocks, and water.  Arsenic can enter drinking water naturally when minerals dissolve, but it is also an industrial pollutant derived from both from coal burning and copper smelting.

No more copper smelting for me   How about more spices?

I recall a few weeks after being diagnosed with diabetes sitting in the tanning salon waiting my turn.  There was a gal in there three times my size waiting too while shoving a Snickers bar in her mouth and washing it down with a Coke.   I shot hot poker eye daggers at her the whole while in my head screaming, ‘ITS NOT FAIR!”   But - does obesity mean diabetes?  Not always.
