Gates on Meet the Press yesterday:

“I don’t think it’s [Lybia] a vital interest of the United States, but we clearly have an interest there,” Mr. Gates said in an appearance on the NBC News program, “Meet the Press” as part of a round of appearances on Sunday morning talk shows. (Source)

Evidently that wasn’t the right answer, as SOS Clinton had to jump in and correct him.

Was Hillary Clinton defending the Secretary of Defense . . . or jerking him back into line?

It was a stunning power play.  On Meet The Press this morning, after Defense Secretary Bob Gates conceded that Libya is not a “vital interest” of the United States–but before he could complete his comments–Hillary cut him off.  She launched into a minute-and-forty-second monologue seeking to justify US military involvement in Libya.

Gates had to sit and take it . . . and never got to say another word. (Source)

Now Obama is going on national television to explain his policy in regard to Lybia.

Really folks – did you think we’d get anything better when we elected a community organizer as President?  This man does not know how to lead.  He does everything by commitee and shows up to the parade too late.

Clearly, SOS Hillary Clinton has the bigger set in this situation.

Yes, its true.   Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is going to be offering up $50,000,000 American Tax Payer dollars to provide clean cook-stoves to the world.

At the CGI meeting on Tuesday, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will announce a U.S. commitment of about $50 million over five years for a project aimed at reducing smoke inhalation morbidity and mortality by providing clean-cooking stoves in developing countries, Reuters reports (Mason, 9/21). 

The project’s goal is to distribute “100 million clean-burning stoves to villages in Africa, Asia and South America by 2020,” the New York Times reports (Broder, 9/20). Several partners, including the U.N. Foundation and the Shell Foundation, are involved in the new project, called the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, which seeks to raise as much as $100 million over five years for new stoves, Bloomberg writes.

You don’t have a say in who gets a brand spanking new clean cook-stove in this world and if you notice there is no mention of helping out the people in America who may not have clean cook-stoves.

This is another level of redistribution of wealth.

Well since she couldn’t get back in the Whitehouse, she went for the  next best thing – Secretary of State.  She’ll still be dealing with world leaders, but now at the beck and call of Deal Leader Obama. 

Yeah – right.

I highly doubt that SOS Hillary will do anything straight down the line that DL Obama wants.  Once she’s in meetings with said leaders of the world, her agenda is more than likely the one that will prevail.  Sure, she’s in line with DL Obama on a lot of issues, but she’s not a dummy either.

She told us during the campaign that talking directly with terrorist leaders was not a good idea (one that DL Obama said he’d do without preconditions), so I’m not sure if she’ll now bow to the whim and will of our DL.

Or did she really agree with him?

She’s not president, but we are stuck with her representing the United States around the world.

The Clinton’s are sucking the air out of The O Show in Denver.  I was in bed by 8:30 pm so didn’t hear a word Mrs. Bill said.   I’m catching it on Fox N Friends – and yes, I can stand to listen to her voice a heckava lot more than I can Michelle “I am finally proud of my country” or her hubby The O.

Sounds like Mrs. Bill took the night with her speech.   She seemed poised, in control and looked amazing!  The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantsuits (snort) that tickled me. 

Bill is up tonight.   This should be interesting.

No matter how much I dislike the Clinton’s (wouldn’t trust ‘em to walk my dog) they are more experienced in the ways of Washington (and the world) than O ever will be.  

For two nights, The O is taking a back seat to the largest political machine since the Kennedy’s. 

If he can be rolled over for the Clinton’s – where will he be when Iran comes knocking?

The spectacular failure of Hillary’s campaign is not that big a surprise. Puffed up well beyond what she deserved, protected from any serious competition or criticism, how could she possibly be expected to be prepared the first time she had to deal with the real political world?

She resorts to whining, shrill outrage and the release of unflattering pictures of Barack Obama because she has nothing else. The whole Hillary mythology was empty. She’s not smart. She’s not tough. She’s not capable. She’s not even formidable enough to make it as a second-rate county politician, let alone presidential material.

I can’t say it’s a shame. It’s pretty well what she had coming. People who run for president to affirm their own self-importance deserve to get humiliated. The nation has more important things to do than feed Hillary’s narcissism. It’s no surprise that this truth laid itself bare.

Yesterday Hillary Clinton told Tim Russert on “Meet the Press” that she was 14 years old when she heard Dr. King speak in person.

She turned 14 in October of 1961.

But on March 4, 2007, at the 42nd Anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama, Mrs. Clinton recounted how as a young girl she had the great privilege of hearing Dr. Martin Luther King speak in Chicago: “ The year was 1963”, Clinton said in her speech. “My youth minister from our church took a few of us down on a cold January night to hear someone that we had read about, we had watched on television, we had seen with our own eyes from a distance, this phenomenon known as Dr. King”.

Unfortunately relying on the MSM to find out the truth is like watching any episode of Max Headroom.

Now that she’s going after Obama and vice versa, I’m going to sit back with a bowl of popcorn and watch.

Be very very careful you two, too much of your crap and Edwards will be the nominee in November.

Steinem’s fawning, gaseous New York Times op-ed about her pal Hillary this week speaks volumes about the snobby clubbiness and reactionary sentimentality of the fossilized feminist establishment, which has blessedly fallen off the cultural map in the 21st century. History will judge Steinem and company very severely for their ethically obtuse indifference to the stream of working-class women and female subordinates whom Bill Clinton sexually harassed and abused, enabled by look-the-other-way and trash-the-victims Hillary.

She is a brittle, relentless manipulator with few stable core values who shuffles through useful personalities like a card shark ( “Cue the tears!” ). Forget all her little gold crosses: Hillary’s real god is political expediency. Do Americans truly want this hard-bitten Machiavellian back in the White House? Day one will just be more of the same.
