Just WHO THE HELL IS IN CHARGE in DC?

For the love of all that is holy, would you people get on message and stay there!

Gates on Meet the Press yesterday:

“I don’t think it’s [Lybia] a vital interest of the United States, but we clearly have an interest there,” Mr. Gates said in an appearance on the NBC News program, “Meet the Press” as part of a round of appearances on Sunday morning talk shows. (Source)

Evidently that wasn’t the right answer, as SOS Clinton had to jump in and correct him.

Was Hillary Clinton defending the Secretary of Defense . . . or jerking him back into line?

It was a stunning power play. On Meet The Press this morning, after Defense Secretary Bob Gates conceded that Libya is not a “vital interest” of the United States–but before he could complete his comments–Hillary cut him off. She launched into a minute-and-forty-second monologue seeking to justify US military involvement in Libya.

Gates had to sit and take it . . . and never got to say another word. (Source)

Now Obama is going on national television to explain his policy in regard to Lybia.

Really folks – did you think we’d get anything better when we elected a community organizer as President? This man does not know how to lead. He does everything by commitee and shows up to the parade too late.

Clearly, SOS Hillary Clinton has the bigger set in this situation.

Its 3 AM – where is your Commander In Chief?

White House = Nut House and the inmates are in charge.

Rush just advised me that SOS Clinton is wanting to provide clean cook-stoves for the world. I had to wait until my blood pressure went down and the pounding in my head stopped before I could even Google search on it.

Yes, its true. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is going to be offering up $50,000,000 American Tax Payer dollars to provide clean cook-stoves to the world.
.

At the CGI meeting on Tuesday, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will announce a U.S. commitment of about $50 million over five years for a project aimed at reducing smoke inhalation morbidity and mortality by providing clean-cooking stoves in developing countries, Reuters reports (Mason, 9/21).

The project’s goal is to distribute “100 million clean-burning stoves to villages in Africa, Asia and South America by 2020,” the New York Times reports (Broder, 9/20). Several partners, including the U.N. Foundation and the Shell Foundation, are involved in the new project, called the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, which seeks to raise as much as $100 million over five years for new stoves, Bloomberg writes.

.
You don’t have a say in who gets a brand spanking new clean cook-stove in this world and if you notice there is no mention of helping out the people in America who may not have clean cook-stoves.

This is another level of redistribution of wealth.

Elections have consequences folks.

Back when all the financial crap started (thank you Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and the Democrats in Congress) during the campaign, I posted the below. Even then Obama showed his “shrug shoulder attitude”. He really didn’t care because he knew he was going to win and he’d be in control in the end anyway.

Still – experience matters. No telling what a McCain/Palin administration would have done with the current mess — wait the current mess is Obama’s making, ie: Taking over an auto maker and firing CEO’s against the constitution — but I highly doubt it would be as bad as it is and is going to be.

Thanks to the free-loading, wanting everything for nothing (or on the backs of others) for this mess. If I could, I’d leave you with the bill; you and your next three generations.

John McCain will suspend his presidential campaign Thursday and has asked to postpone his debate Friday with Barack Obama so the two senators can return to Washington to help negotiate a Wall Street bailout, an approach that Obama promptly rejected.

“America this week faces an historic crisis in our financial system,” McCain said in mid-afternoon remarks to reporters in New York. “If we do not act, every corner of our country will be impacted. We cannot allow this to happen.”

Obama responded by saying that such disruptive measures were unnecessary.

“Presidents are going to have to deal with more than one thing at a time,” Sen. Obama said. “It’s not necessary for us to think that we can only do one thing and suspend everything else.” He said that he and McCain have large campaign planes that can get them out of Mississippi and back to Washington quickly.

The President said “get back to work John and Barack“.

That’s experience.

That’s putting Country First.

Barrack Obama had to make light of his job as a senator and jab at McCain’s age by insinuating he couldn’t do 2 things at once. Classy.

Anyone that visits this blog regularly knows that Hillary Clinton is not my favorite political person and did not want her as President of the United States. Thankfully that didn’t happen, but what we got is worse.

Be careful what you wish for uh?

Well since she couldn’t get back in the Whitehouse, she went for the next best thing – Secretary of State. She’ll still be dealing with world leaders, but now at the beck and call of Deal Leader Obama.

Yeah – right.

I highly doubt that SOS Hillary will do anything straight down the line that DL Obama wants. Once she’s in meetings with said leaders of the world, her agenda is more than likely the one that will prevail. Sure, she’s in line with DL Obama on a lot of issues, but she’s not a dummy either.

She told us during the campaign that talking directly with terrorist leaders was not a good idea (one that DL Obama said he’d do without preconditions), so I’m not sure if she’ll now bow to the whim and will of our DL.

Or did she really agree with him?

She’s not president, but we are stuck with her representing the United States around the world.

Brrrr … the temp around these parts of Alabama dipped about like the stock market has been this past month. We have firewood stacked in the backyard and mink blanket on the bed. Time to drag out the sweaters and put up the tank tops for a few months. We don’t have much of a winter round these parts, so could have them back out in February!

I want to talk to you a bit about the post Trelania wrote below “Please Think Before You Vote” on tax issues with a President Obama. I dug through our tax records and found last years filings, then found moneychimp.com has this page where you can find out what your taxes were for various years back to 2000.

What.An.Eye.Opener!!! Yes we’re making more now than in 2000, but the tax cuts put into place by President Bush are going to expire in 2010 back to the those rates (even though Sen. Obama says they need to go back to the Clinton years). In 2007 we paid $9,229 in Federal Income Tax (25%). Using 2007 income figures from our tax records and going to the link above, I calculated what our tax will increase in 2010 to $12,640 (28%). Just like Trelaina said, a $3,000 increase – and that’s just on rolled back taxes. That’s not including whatever tax increase a President Obama would impose on us “rich, selfish, white folk“.

Then, that would also mean we still had jobs. Additionally reading: Proposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election.

Some of the offices in my company had dress-up contests for Halloween yesterday and they emailed the pictures around for us all to enjoy. Two guys in our Tallahassee office dressed like the Oompa Loompa’s from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I laughed myself out of my chair. Two grown men dressed up like that just cracked me up to no end. I think they won hands down. Hope they didn’t have to call on any clients!

Trelaina here....throwing in some thoughts for those of you who have not voted and may be considering Obama or are "undecided".

Trelaina here….throwing in some thoughts for those of you who have not voted and may be considering Obama or are “undecided”.

One thing many people do not realize, or choose to ignore, is that politicians campaign from the CENTER. Nearly all politicians do it, regardless of party – the ones who don’t are very obvious. So, when you hear McCain or Obama make campaign speeches and promises, you have to assume that in the Oval Office, their true actions will be to the right (Republican) or left (Democrat) of what you read or hear.

How far to the right or left? To determine that, you have to look at non-campaign actions.

John McCain? They call him a “maverick” for a reason. It’s hard to say how far to the right he’d sit as President. One thing you can say for sure though is that he WILL sit to the right. You can see that through his years of Congressional service as well as his choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate. He may have bounced to the other side of the aisle sometimes, but he doesn’t stay there.

Barack Obama? He’s documented as the Senator with the most liberal voting record. His running mate Joe Biden is 4th on that list. His political record is only a few years long and a great deal of that time was spent campaigning, so we need more. That’s easy. Ayers, Wright, Dohrn, Khalidi, Rezko. I’m done

95% of Americans will get a tax cut, hm? Did you know that the 2001 Bush tax cuts are scheduled to expire soon? Did you know that Obama doesn’t consider the expiration of the tax cuts, which could raise taxes on a family making $50K by somewhere in the ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR range per year, as a tax increase? It’s “just a rollback of a tax cut”. What’s the difference between rolling back a tax cut and increasing taxes?

Did you know about all of Obama’s tax ideas?

In 2001, my family wasn’t making much money. My husband was in college and not working. I was only 5 years into a job I started at entry level. We were living off a very small salary and college loans. The tax cut at the time probably helped us a bit, but not enough to really notice.

In 2008, I’m now 13 years into that same job, a senior member of the team who has had a number of promotions and salary increases. My husband has a steady job. We have two children. We’ve benefitted GREATLY from the lower tax rates George Bush and the Republican Congress set for us. Rolling back the tax cuts would increase our tax burden by quite a bit. In addition, as Obama and Biden slowly lower the income level at which they will raise taxes EVEN HIGHER, I worry that their aim is actually at MY family’s income. I’m a solid Conservative and my vote is set, but if I weren’t, the news on Obama’s plans for taxes alone would probably have me voting McCain.

People, I could go on and on. I haven’t even touched on the TRILLION PLUS dollars of new proposals Obama has made that would surely increase our taxes even more. Universal Health Care which would increase our taxes again (and you might want to search on Jo’s site for her stories about military health care, which is a smaller example of just what these liberals want).

I realize that Obama is charismatic. He chants the mantra of Hope and Change. But guess what? Clinton chanted this mantra too, and also preached tax cuts for the middle class. Then, just months into his administration, he came whining to us that he just hadn’t known how bad things were, and he was SO sorry but he’d have to raise taxes after all. Who says our charismatic friend Barack doesn’t have the same plans? It would be so easy to blame George W. Bush…the democrats have been setting that plate for eight long years.

Ladies and gentlemen…look past the charm, the media frenzy and the promises. What will you get with Obama? Tax and spend, tax and spend, continued blaming of Bush for every issue, our enemies dancing in the streets. What will you get with McCain? Solid positions on defense, and a man we can work with on the economy and other issues. A future, led by Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, Fred Thompson and others who are just now finding their political conservative voices.

You thinking of helping to make history? You make history regardless of whether you pick Republican or Democrat. We already have the first African-American nominee of a major political party. If McCain wins we have the first woman Vice President. All that said, are we really to the point where it’s more important that the nation’s highest offices are filled based on race or gender rather than qualifications and what they will do when they HAVE those jobs?

Please think about this. Our future is at stake.
