You stood out there in El Paso, Texas yesterday and sounded like a two-year old, whiney baby not getting your way.  How dare you make the statements you made and sleep at night?

EL PASO, Texas – In search of Hispanic votes and a long-shot immigration overhaul, President Barack Obama on Tuesday stood at the U.S.-Mexico border for the first time since winning the White House and declared it more secure than ever. He mocked Republican lawmakers for blocking immigration over border security alone, saying they won’t be happy until they get a moat with alligators along the border.

“They’ll never be satisfied,” he said.

“We have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they supported broader reform as long as we got serious about enforcement,” Obama said. “But even though we’ve answered these concerns, I gotta say I suspect there are still going to be some who are trying to move the goal posts on us one more time.”

“Maybe they’ll need a moat,” he said derisively to laughter from the crowd. “Maybe they’ll want alligators in the moat.”

Now isn’t that special?  Clearly this was a campagin speech. Gotta get that “undocumented” vote out there on 2012. 

Anyone that reads the headlines and lives in the border area knows the border is NOT secure. 

I kept waiting for the cheery minsterals to come out in their joker hats and start playing a tune around Obama.

How embarassing a president do we have uh?

Yes, Mr. President, let’s build a moat, add a couple DMZ type fences and a few squads of sharpshooters along the border. 

Protect us Mr. President.  In other words – do your job!

Because I work in Georgia, I am required to pay Georgia State Income Taxes.   Each year I file two state income tax forms.

However, just because I pay Georgia State Income Taxes does not give me free rein to receive in-state tuition at Georgia based colleges.   I, a resident of the State of Alabama, would have to pay out-of-state tuition because I am not a resident of Georgia.

Based on that reality, if you are an illegal in this country you shouldn’t receive any benefits from the State of Georgia, or the United States of America.

If the State of Georgia votes to allow an illegal the rights to in-state tuition fees, then anyone working in the State of Georgia and paying state income taxes should be afforded the same opportunity.

The reason this country is over-run with illegals is because we are not hard enough on them to keep them out.  Once we adopt Mexico’s immigration policy, we will slow the illegal problem to a trickle.

Upon entering Mexico, immigrants must prove who they are, that they are mentally fit, and that they can contribute to Mexican society.  If they do that, they sign their papers, are given a number, and are allowed to entry into the country.  Failure to play by these rules carries a stiff penalty.

-        An illegal immigrant who sneaks into the country, or fails to file his papers, will face fines, jail, deportation, or a combination of the three.

-        An illegal immigrant who forges his documents, or falsifies them by lying when he fills them out, will face fines, jail, deportation, or a combination of the three.

-        An illegal immigrant who takes a job faces fines, up to six years in prison, and deportation.

-        All immigrants must provide proof of their legal status if the authorities demand it.  Failure to do so will result, once more, in fines, jail, deportation, or a combination of the three.   Read more: Let’s adopt Mexico’s ‘fair’ and ‘respectful’ immigration policy

Providing benefits to illegals that are not afforded to the legal citizens of this country does not help with the illegal immigration policy.

I vote NO for in-state tuition for illegals.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services guide (PDF format; Scroll down to page number 8) requires many things of immigrants … and under “Your Rights and Responsibilities” it states:

As a permanent resident, it is your responsibility to:

• Obey all federal, state, and local laws.

• Pay federal, state, and local income taxes.

• Register with the Selective Service (U.S. Armed Forces), if you are a male between ages 18 and 26.

• Maintain your immigration status.

• Carry proof of your permanent resident status at all times.

• Change your address online or provide it in writing to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) within 10 days of each time you move.

So guess what you Obama Zombies – the ‘FEDERAL’ law already requires immigrants to have proof of residence on them … so why don’t you take you mis-guided anger out on the federal government instead of the State of Arizona?

If the feds did what they are required to do – Arizona wouldn’t have to be re-enforcing CURRENT LAW.

But then again, if Holder & Sister Napalitano can’t read the bill, they may not have read the Federal Law either — so …

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Anne Hobbs was angry. The head of the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission had just learned of a Hispanic couple who said their landlord asked for their driver’s licenses – but didn’t ask the same of non-Hispanic tenants.

Hobbs said it sounded like the couple were “treated differently than everybody else because of national origin,” and sent the case to the state’s top prosecutor, hoping he would sue on their behalf under fair housing laws.

When Attorney General Jon Bruning received the case, he was angry, too – for a different reason than Hobbs.

“I’m not going to use taxpayer dollars to file lawsuits for illegal aliens,” said Bruning after learning the couple was in the U.S. illegally. “You’re not going to get a free lawyer” from his office, he said, “if you’re not a citizen of this country.”

Critics say Bruning’s legal rationale is so off-base that he may end up in court after all – and not as a prosecutor. Immigration activists suggest they may be laying the groundwork for a first-of-its kind lawsuit, with Bruning as the defendant.

Bruning, a Republican who has made no secret of his ambition for higher office, argues that the federal 1996 welfare reform law prohibits him from providing legal services to illegal immigrants. He points to a section that says only legal residents should get state or local public benefits. The law defines them to include welfare, disability and health services.

The true identity of the woman facing charges in the deadly Minnesota bus crash is still unknown. Immigration officials say Alianiss Morales is an illegal immigrant using a fake name. That is stirring up mixed emotions among the public, including some immigrant families who fear a backlash.

Pablo Ruiz Jauregui came to the United States from Guadalajara twelve years ago for work. 

“To make dollars,” he said.
 
He says that’s the same reason why many Hispanics come to the US. 

“A lot of people come here because they want to make a better life. Their children have nothing to eat, and they cross the border illegally,”  Jauregui said.

But he says those who come here illegally, like the woman involved in the deadly Cottonwood bus crash, should face the consequences of their decisions. 

“When they make a choice to come illegally, they know they aren’t going to be able to drive and if they’re going to drive, it leads to other illegal activities,” Jauregui said.

While listening to talk radio this afternoon, I heard about Ex-Colorado Governor Richard Lamm, who gave a speech in Washington DC in 2004. Not sure if this was true or not, I went to Snopes to check it out. It is not an urban legend at all. Here are parts of the speech, from Snopes, and it will make you think. Emphasis is mine.

…Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America. The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States. He said, “If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let’s destroy America. It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that ‘An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.’”

“Here is how they do it,” Lamm said: First to destroy America, “Turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country. History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar Seymour Lipset put it this way: ‘The histories of bilingual and bi-cultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy. Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, and Corsicans.”

Lamm went on: Second, to destroy America, “Invent ‘multiculturalism’ and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. I would make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal. That there are no cultural differences. I would make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.

Third, “We could make the United States a ‘Hispanic Quebec’ without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: ‘The apparent success of our own multiethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved! Not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentrically and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.’”

Lamm said, “I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to ensure that we have various cultural subgroups living in America reinforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities.”

“Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school.”

“My fifth point for destroying America would be to get big foundations and business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of ‘Victimology.’ I would get all minorities to think their lack of success was the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority population.”

“My sixth plan for America’s downfall would include dual citizenship and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity. I would stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other – that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity! Unity is what it takes to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshiped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic Games.

“Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits ~ make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of ‘diversity.’ I would find a word similar to ‘heretic’ in the 16th century – that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. “Having made America a bilingual/bicultural country, having established multi-culturism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of ‘Victimology,’ I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of millions of them.”

Think of all the protests we’ve seen this week where there were more Mexican flags then American. They don’t want to be American, they don’t want to be a citizen of this country, they want to keep their country and culture and ignore ours.

And lest we forget, this is NOT a “legal” immigration issue, it is an “ILLEGAL” immigration issue.

When you hire someone to do work on your home, whatever it may be, demand that only “Americans” be allowed to work on it. No illegals, or no work. Maybe if we all got together and demanded such things, in a small measure all over the country, there will eventually be no work for the law breakers to break the law for.

Remember what Teddy Roosevelt said:

“In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. On October 30th, thirty illegal aliens were arrested while they worked for a sub-contractor at the site of the Infantry Museum where at Fort Benning, GA. 

Federal agents converged on the National Infantry Museum construction site Tuesday morning, snaring 30 suspected illegal immigrants, some as they tried to flee.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents went to the 3800 S. Lumpkin Road site at 7:30 a.m. after getting a tip that illegal workers might be there, ICE spokesman Richard Rocha said Wednesday.

“There were some individuals who tried to escape,” he said. “There were two who we were able to apprehend in flight. We worked with the employer, who helped us ask the employees to come down off the site.”

Each of their charges carry maximum sentences ranging from 2 to 5 years, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.

But defense attorney Susan Henderson says her clients don’t deserve such harsh punishments for their crimes.

“They have committed a crime, they have violated federal laws. But whether they did knowingly and with intent remains to be seen,” said Henderson.

Do what?  Please — Ms. Henderson are you trying to tell me these illegals slept walk across the border of Mexico into the United States and woke up at a job site in Columbus, GA??  Reality has been suspended …

(October 23) Last night, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed to invoke cloture on S. 2205, Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin’s (D-Ill.) new stand-alone DREAM Act amnesty bill.

The cloture vote, for which 60 YES votes are necessary to prevent a filibuster on the measure, is set for Wednesday, October 24.

Reid is attempting to bring this nightmarish amnesty bill to the floor under Senate Rule XIV without it ever having been debated in committee… Click here for more background on the DREAM Act.
