I have no remorse or sadness for this man’s passing.  Yes, I feel for his family’s loss, as I’m sure they loved him.

Personally, this is how I will always remember Jack “Marines are murderers” Murtha.

Oh, and do we need to mention the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport in PA that flew only the congressman to Washington DC? Tax payer money stolen by Murtha and wasted.

Sure, the man’s in jail for assaulting the head of another country.  {Do you really think we wouldn’t do the same thing here if that happened?}  But I don’t see where this man’s head has been removed from his body, ala Saddam Hussein?

So the guy is a terrorist supporter?  Big hairy deal.  What this poor sap doesn’t realize is that his display of anger would never have happened under the rule of Saddam and if it wasn’t for the man at the receiving end of those size 10′, his country would still be living in the dark ages.

Oh, of course the left {who want us to be nice to their empty-suit president-elect obama} have said some really nasty things, again, about the incident.   The broken record of the looney left is still skipping.

So, think what you will about the man with the shoes, President Bush laughed it off and probably saw the incident the same way a lot of us on the right do.

Roadside bomb attacks and fatalities in Iraq are down by almost 90% over the last year, according to Pentagon records and interviews with military leaders.

In May, 11 U.S. troops were killed by blasts from improvised explosive devices (IEDs) compared with 92 in May 2007, records show. That’s an 88% decrease.

Military leaders cite several factors for the drop in attacks and deaths.

I did a search for the “Roadside bombs decline in Iraq”, and found one other story that referenced the USA Today story. 

Still – I’m thrilled either way.   This of course is probably getting all over the backside of the libs who want total failure in Iraq!!!

Republican John McCain on Monday sharply criticized Democratic rival Barack Obama for not having been to Iraq since 2006, and said they should visit the war zone together.

“Look at what happened in the last two years since Senator Obama visited and declared the war lost,” the GOP presidential nominee-in-waiting told The Associated Press in an interview, noting that the Illinois senator’s last trip to Iraq came before the military buildup that is credited with curbing violence.

“He really has no experience or knowledge or judgment about the issue of Iraq and he has wanted to surrender for a long time,” the Arizona senator added. “If there was any other issue before the American people, and you hadn’t had anything to do with it in a couple of years, I think the American people would judge that very harshly.”

“For him to talk about dates for withdrawal, which basically is surrender in Iraq after we’re succeeding so well is, I think, really inexcusable,” said McCain, who has been to Iraq eight times, most recently in March.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton declined to respond directly to McCain, saying only: “Senator Obama thinks Memorial Day is a day to honor our nation’s veterans, not a day for political posturing.”

Obama doesn’t give a rats ass about Memorial Day or any other day honoring the military.  We all know that the liberal democrats don’t want the military at all – they tolerate it only.   Ask anyone who served and lived through the Clinton years how well they were taken care of.   The Clintons are the reason we have a military social experiment having to be cleaned up.  But I get off track here.

Obama is a chicken-shit.  He won’t go to Iraq for anything.  Hell Nancy went, proving she’s got bigger ones than he does – and he wants to be president!

Maybe Obama is afraid that when he gets over there the Muslim’s will rise up and demand he follow the steps of the religion he was born to?

“I hope this range and equipment gives you guys at least a few moments of relaxation,” Army Maj. Mark Andres told about two dozen soldiers who braved the elements to become the first to tee off on what could be regarded as the world’s largest sand traps.

It was Andres, an aide to the deputy commanding general of Multi-National Corps-Iraq, who is responsible for bringing golf to FOB Hammer.

Andres used his contacts in Chicago to secure clubs and golf balls for the range. He explained to the first wave of ball strikers, some of whom actually looked quite proficient with a driver, that members of the Professional Golfers of America donated much of the gear to make the driving range a reality.

BAGHDAD – A military panel on Friday acquitted U.S. Army Spc. Jorge G. Sandoval on charges he killed two unarmed Iraqis, but it convicted him of planting evidence on one of the men in attempt to cover up the shooting. Sandoval, 22, of Laredo, Texas, had faced five charges in the April and May deaths of two unidentified men. He was found not guilty of the two murder charges, but the panel decided he had placed a spool of detonation wire on one of the bodies to make it look as if the man was an insurgent.Lawyers for Sandoval said he should be sentenced only for misplacement of public or private property, which carries no more than six months in prison. Prosecutors argued he should be punished for obstruction of justice, which carries a maximum five-year sentence. He will be sentenced on Saturday.”Anyone who has been charged with murder for their first kill on the battlefield on the order of his superior and is found not guilty is happy,” Capt. Craig Drummond, a defense attorney, said outside court after the verdict. “Today what the panel concluded was justice. This soldier is not guilty.”

Why are our soldiers being charged with crimes against the enemy? Yes there are war crimes and Americans have committed them throughout history, as have the enemy they were/are fighting.

But its really too bad that we hear so much more about the awful soliders Awful American Soldiers committing said crimes, but the horrible stuff the enemy does is posted and shoved to the back page or never even talked about.   Yes, we have some bad apples, you are going to get that in any war situation – on both sides, but I’m sick of our soldiers having to defend themselves for doing their jobs.

Was he here to get away from the sands of Iraq or prepare for the fire-fight he’s fixin’ to walk into in Washington?

Neither.

Seems family and respect comes first (something I think the left might have a hard time understanding).

General David Petreaus spoke with reverence about the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion, also known as the Triple Nickels. The group was formed during a time when much of the Army was still segregated.

General Petreaus says the true reason for his visit to Fort Benning is to be with his son, Steven, an ROTC cadet at MIT, who has just completed Airborne School at Fort Benning and will graduate Saturday. He was also in attendance at today’s memorial service.

“And tomorrow morning, I’ll have the honor of pinning his grandfather’s jump wings on him at the Airborne graduation ceremony,” Petreaus said as the audience erupted in applause.

As he travels to Washington, I wonder what goes through his mind as he sets out to report to us, via our congress people, the truth of Iraq – knowing that people have already started accusing him of lying?  

Don notes Joe Biden is not hiding his two-faces, or flip-flopping, on Iraq anymore but is right out there in front of God and everybody blatantly doing lip-service to MoveOn.org and its ilk.   Another perfect example of how unstable the liberals are.  They can’t stand for anything but shifting sand.  

I wonder if General Patraus’ butterflies have flack vests? 

This is the time for President Bush to seize the moment and go before the American people. He needs to go to Iraq, meet there with Gen. Petraeus and see for himself what magnificent young Americans are doing on the battlefield.

A body recovered by Iraqi police from the Euphrates River south of Baghdad was identified as one of three American soldiers abducted in an ambush claimed by Al Qaeda, the military said Thursday.

Military officials told the family of Pfc. Joseph Anzack Jr. that a commanding officer identified the remains recovered from the river, but that DNA tests were still pending.

via Fox News television about five to 6 … one of the bodies of the three missing soldiers has been found; dressed in a US Military Uniform, shots to the head and heart. 

Iraqi police found the body of a man who was wearing what appeared to be a U.S. military uniform and had a tattoo on his left hand floating in the Euphrates River south of Baghdad on Wednesday morning, police said.

The man had been shot in the head and chest, Babil police Capt. Muthana Khalid said.

The body, which had bullet wounds, was found in the Euphrates river near the town of Musayyib, south of Baghdad. The corpse has now been taken by US forces.
