So much for getting rid of the “Bush” Administration policies in the war on terror. DL Obama’s administration’s policies have already killed innocents in Afghanistan.

Well, at least that’s how the Karzai looks at it.

Mr Karzai said most of those killed were civilians, adding that such deadly incidents strengthened Taleban rebels and weakened Afghanistan’s government.

Women and children were among those killed, Mr Karzai said.

The strike was the first controversy in Afghanistan involving US troops since US President Barack Obama took office.

In a statement, the president said two women and three children were among the dead in the attack, which the US said targeted a militant carrying a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG).

So much for change uh?

Yeah right …

Where are the loons on the left and their outrage? (crickets)

Here is a quote from Col. (Ret) Hunt’s blog on Fox News.com:

You have got to be kidding — the sixth and seventh official investigations into the tragic death of U.S. Army Ranger Pat Tillman have been completed, and there are probably going to be at least nine more.

Since this great guy was killed by friendly fire, doing what he left the NFL to do — defend this country and fight in the war on terror — his family, friends, and a caring American public have been treated to one embarrassing, criminally incompetent moment after the other. It is as if the Army and the Department of Defense have turned into the gang that not only can’t shoot straight, it can’t even find the trigger. And this on the heels of the abysmal treatment of our soldiers in outpatient care uncovered by the Washington Post just a few weeks ago.

They are protesting, again, the supposed “killing of innocents”. *sigh*

US troops kill Afghan civilians (from the BBC | South Asia Section)

The incident took place near the eastern city of Jalalabad. An incident described by US forces in Afghanistan as a “complex ambush” has left 16 civilians dead. The incident occurred on the road from the eastern city of Jalalabad to Pakistan when a suicide bomber targeted a convoy, sparking a fire fight.

The killing of the civilians has reportedly sparked a protest by thousands of local people.

So title of this report is FALSE!!!! It is not until you get the second sentence “The incident occurred on the road from the eastern city of Jalalabad to Pakistan when a suicide bomber targeted a convoy, sparking a fire fight” that learn what happened. And of course, the ”supposed” killing of *gasp* civilians is going to give these 14th Century, backwards, uneducated fools a reason to protest.

The US military said a minibus containing explosives was driven at the convoy, injuring one soldier.

US troops were then attacked from several directions and returned fire in defence of the patrol.

Listen up you stupid ass Afghans — if you are going to rubber neck at a “bombing”, don’t complain when the attacked RETALIATE!

Thousands of people gathered to demonstrate, protesting at the large number of civilian deaths and blaming the US patrol for shooting passers-by.

Trust me on this folks, the brainless, mummy terrorist following people of Afghanistan don’t walk around with bullseyes on their clothes so the coalition forces can determine who is bad and who isn’t.

So Afghans — if you don’t want to be a casualty at a gunfight after an attack – MOVE THE HELL AWAY FROM THE INCIDENT!!

Stupid. Just plain as stupid.

Missed this one in my normal news travels. Had to get it from the SGM.

AP Exclusive: U.S. Special Forces clear out Taliban suicide cell threatening Kabul

TAGAB VALLEY, Afghanistan — While the southern city of Kandahar reels from a series of suicide attacks, Kabul is enjoying a respite because of a little-publicized operation that officials say disrupted Taliban suicide training cells and scattered hundreds of fighters.

After 115 suicide attacks this year nationwide, including a rash of bombings this fall that killed almost 40 people in Kabul, the Afghan capital hasn’t suffered a suicide attack in two months.

Military officials had feared a bloody winter campaign in Kabul, saying 300 to 500 Taliban fighters had massed 60 miles north of the city in this isolated valley from which the earlier wave of attacks was launched.

But the operation in the Tagab Valley early last month wiped out three training compounds and drove out the Taliban fighters, U.S. Army Special Forces Lt. Col. Lynn Ashley told The Associated Press this week.

U.S. and NATO commanders are portraying the joint U.S.-Afghan operation as a model for taming the Taliban as it rebounds from its ouster by the U.S.-led invasion five years ago.

The militants had been able to gather so close to the capital partly because of the region’s rough terrain, Ashley said. Minor operations had been conducted against them, but never a full-scale push.

There have been a few moments of lost sleep due to IEDs and such for me, but this made me sleep a lot better that night I got it.
