He’s gone off the deep end — again.  And this time someone finally grew a set and fired back.

For some unknown reason (at least to me) Sheen got on a radio talk show and blasted his bosses at CBS.  It was some pretty vile stuff – but because he’s been babied (ala Lindsey Lohan and Brittney Spears), he probably felt nothing would happen to him.  I mean, he is the son of one of the best known and loved actors in Hollywood right?

[CBS halted production on Two and Half Men] just hours after recordings of a Sheen interview with syndicated radio personality Alex Jones went viral. In the interview, Sheen repeatedly attacked the show’s creator, executive producer Chuck Lorre, whom Sheen insisted on calling “Chaim Levine.”

Among the nastier bits of the interview, Sheen told Jones: “Check it, Alex: I embarrassed [Lorre] in front of his children and the world by healing at a pace that his unevolved mind cannot process. Last I checked, Chaim, I spent close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold. And the gratitude I get is [that] this charlatan chose not to do his job, which is to write.” Source

So while Charlie goes off on a love affair of himself, his co-workers are left stranded.  Yes, Charlie is supposedly the star of the show, but if anyone has watched it for any length of time, you know the show wouldn’t be without Jake, Alan & Berta.  Could the show go on without him? Probably not for long.  The humor of the show surrounds Charlie and his childish ways, and how the other characters react to him.  Although Charlie Harpers’ life is not as dramatic as Charlie Sheen’s, the parallels are the same.

Charlie Sheen is a drug addicted, ego-maniac that has been allowed to destroy lives around him.  I really feel sorry for his children.  They didn’t ask for this creep to be their father.

Charlie – you need professional help in a lock down facility.

But right now – I really don’t care what you do.  You do not effect my life in any other way than to add some eye rolling humor on occasion.   Go get clean and sober.  Its the best thing for everyone.

DWTS

Although we are not going to miss the diva cry baby whining out of Brandy, the results were just wrong.

Brandy could have gone home week one and I would have been happy; but Bristol should have gone home a few weeks ago too.

Bristol did a brave thing going on DWTS.   With all the hatred in this country for everything Palin, putting herself back out there in the spot light took guts.

We were upset when Mel B and Sabrina Bryan went home too early – so the best dancers have been voted off before.   And come on people, we spent too many weeks stomaching Cloris Leachman when she was on the show.

But why didn’t Brandy’s fans keep her on there?  Were they not as diligent as Palin’s fans?  Evidently not.

Still, it was wrong.   I can’t imagine how Bristol feels this morning.  With the reaction from the audience and the other dancers, she must be feeling very alone.

The weirdness of the show bringing in people such as Cloris Leachman almost ruined it for us. She hung around way too long and frankly was NOT all that funny.

This season’s line up did not get me excited one bit.  I am still not sure if I’m going to watch it all or not, but missing it is not going to upset me either.

The cast was announced the other day is another reason I’m not all that hyped up to watch.  With Bristol Palin on the dance floor, the last thing I want to do is sit and listen to the liberal judges attack her and her mother after each dance.

But thanks to BroadwayWorld.com, I might just have changed my mind.   They have posted pictures from some of the practice season (over dosed with Bristol Palin).

They look interesting, although I’m not that big on Florence Henderson or Margaret Cho.  I hope that Florence isn’t the “token” old person that just stiffly dances around the floor.  Margaret Cho is a Rosie O’Donnell wanna be and has a mouth like a drunken sailor.  I do hope they’ve told the David Hasselhoff that he can’t have one drink while on the show.

But - One crack that is meant to harm about Sarah Palin and I’m done watching.

So we’ll see.

In addition to David leaving,  Russell T. Davies, the creator of this modern version of Who, is moving on (see Torchwood: US).

With apprehension, fans waited to see the face of the Eleventh Doctor and his companion.  For myself, when I first saw the pictures of Matt Smith – well, let’s say I wasn’t impressed.  I can’t say what it was that put me off, but something didn’t click.  But then again, it could simply be the loss of David and wanting the new doctor to stay like David.

Because of the wonder of the internet I was able to see the new Doctor the week after it aired on BBC UK.  I had already talked to a Facebook friend who said she liked the show but wasn’t really sure about the “new” Doctor.

I laughed the whole hour.  Steven Moffat had added bits and pieces of the Tennant’s doctor’s (obviously since The Doctor is a compilation of all previous regenerations) little quirks to help with the transition.  I don’t really recall the Tenth Doctor having a lot of the Ninth Doctor’s quirks and mannerisms when Christopher Eccleston regenerated.  Maybe because we only had the Eccleston Doctor for one series and we had Tennant’s for four, the need for a bit of the old in the new was necessary for the viewers.

Karen Gillan‘s Amy Pond, the new companion, hit just the right note of strength and wonder.  Moffat wrote the meeting between the two in a way that touches the child in all of us and reminds us of boggy men under the bed.  You’ll have to have seen the show to understand.

So off into the wonders of space and places on Earth goes The Eleventh Doctor and his companion – and I’m going to be right there with them.  I’m sad to lose David, but I think Matt Smith and Steven Moffat are going to be able to take us forward with new adventures, old enemies and great fun.

The anticipation is gone to watch this show.  I have last week’s sitting on the DVR – not watched.  I have already found out Dana is a terrorist (go figure).  So CTU gets attacked (again) and a terrorist has infiltrated it (again).  Blah Blah Blah.

I was beginning to think the writers were throwing darts at a board of all the previous season’s story lines and just writing them in.

The one good thing they did was dump Kim early on so we didn’t have to deal with her whining and crying the whole time.

Supposedly there is talk about a movie.  Okay – that sounds like something promising which could bring the show back to its original glory.

A once really great show that had our Monday’s buzzing and our Tuesday’s nothing but chatter about it has petered out to nothing.

Yes, it is time the silent clock counts down on this show.

After quite a tough competition between three muscular hunks for the honor of being the next ‘Conan The Barbarian,’ the role finally went to Jason Momoa. The losers are ‘Twilight’’s Kellan Lutz and ‘Supernatural’’s Jared Padalecki.

Stargate Atlantis and Baywatch fans will recognize Jason Moma.

I’m in no way a follower of “Twilight” and haven’t a clue who Jared Padalecki is.  But I did look up Kellan Lutz and Jared on IMDB and Momoa is the best choice hands down.

Go look at the picture here on Wiki about Conan the Barbarian and you can see just in that adaptation, Jason is the better fit.  He just has the look.   The other two – not so much.

We all know that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger played the original Conan and Jason (in my opinion) fits closer to the original movie better.

Sure Hollywood has a way of making actors look their parts, but with Jason – they won’t have to do much I think.

Congrats Jason – will look forward to watching.

Television networks planning Jackson coverage

Just great. The country is fastly slipping into a sink hole and the media is sucking on the ratings hind tit by glorifying Jackson’s funeral.

Stop the world I wanna get off.

It was all for Michelle?  

Okay … now we find out she was pregnant with his son.

But still … all the people that died, and are dying (Jack), was because a mad man killed his wife and son. 

Of course the SGM chimed in and said he’d go after anyone that hurt me. 

But would you kill two plane load’s of people? Would you commit your once best friend to a horrible death?

Could you walk away from it all and sleep at night knowing you avenged the death in spite of all the people you had to kill to do it?

I am still stunned the whole season was based on one person’s revenge. 

That could be the point of it all.  Some people are wired that way.  Jack always does what is in his heart, even if its not the “lawful” thing to do.  Can we then justify Tony doing what he did because of how he felt in his heart?

Other thoughts …

It was sweet to see little Ms. Taylor getting her comeuppances ala her mother the Prez.  Loved it!   We adore Aaron Pierce and it was good to see him back in the saddle and doing what he does best – the right thing.  

The most surprising part of the show was … Kim. Like most 24 viewers, except the males of course, I cannot stand Kim.  She screeches too much like her mother Teri and is about as dumb as a box of rocks.  (Do we have to bring up the cougar scene?)

BUT – Kim has grown up and it showed.  The acting was much improved and the maturity was evident.  Marriage and motherhood brought out the best of Kim Bauer.  She didn’t wine, she didn’t snivel, she did as her dad asked and walked away.  The old Kim wouldn’t have.  Bravo!  

About half way through this season, I was seriously considering just trashing this show and moving away.  Too much “green shit” and Janis overload. 

The producers must have realized viewers weren’t too happy with the “politically correct Janis” and the “go green” commercials because Janis actually had me cheering for her at the end and the green commercials seemed to fall by the way side.  

Yes, I’ll wait with baited breath for the next 24.

I grew up with Young & Restless, As the World Turns and Guiding Light.  Afternoons were grandma time and you either sat with her while she watched her “stories” or played somewhere else really quiet like.

I stopped watching many years ago.  Can’t really explain why, or remember exactly when, but I want to say it was around the time of the Reva Shane (my hero) clone story.  I love sci-fi, but soaps are suppose to be about love in the afternoon – not if someone flew to the moon.

Soaps audiences have declined over the years, with the advent of the VCR, DVR and Soap Net, and they claim women going to work instead of staying home. We who remained loyal found other ways to enjoy our stories.  I stopped taping General Hospital and watch it online now. Even Soap Net lost its sparkle a long time ago too.

I remember Reva Shane dancing in the town fountain in a red corset calling herself the town slut.  Josh sat in his wheel chair lost in his thoughts and his heart breaking.  That was what a soap opera should be. 

Television in the afternoon is changing fast and soaps will be around in some format, but I feel the cancelling of Guiding Light is just the start of the end of the genre on television.
