I grew up in southern Minnesota.  Living mostly in rural communities and on farms where working was something you just did.  There were crops to weed and bring in; cattle, pigs, chickens, horses, etc to feed and take care of.  Machinery had to be cleaned and maintained properly and grass had to be mowed.

I never thought working for a living was wrong.  My grandmother always told me to earn my way.  Mother said the same thing at times.  I’ve worked at pulling weeds from soybean fields, de-tassling corn, and building grain silos.   When I was got older, I starting working as a bus girl, then waitress at a local restaurant.

Being from a farming family, college was never discussed as an option when I left high school.   I never excelled at anything to even think about a scholarship, so what to do after graduation was limited.  What I did know for sure was living in that part of the country for the rest of my life wasn’t going to happen.  One way or another I was getting out of that hole where you either worked in the factory or pumped out babies as a living.

No thanks – I wanted better for myself.

One of my classmates signed up for the delayed entry program for the United States Army.   She too did not want to be part of the dirt that made up that community.  (Unfortunately, she is back there and part of it now – last I heard).  I followed her lead and signed up.  In November after graduation, I left Minnesota for the southern states of the US.

I have been working at one job  or another since that time.  One year out of my life while married to my first husband I did spend seeing what it was like being a stay at home housewife.   I’m surprised I survived that.  Yucko!

I pay my taxes.

I support local charities.

I buy what I can pay for and save for what I want.

My husband served this country for 23 years.

He pays taxes.

He supports local military charities.

He buys what he can pay for and saves for what he wants.

Our debt is only in our home and one vehicle.

Our credit cards are paid off.

We are of the 53%.

We want no hand out from the government.

We want our freedom to be and do what we want.

We will continue to fight for that freedom.

Don’t get your panties in a snit because some of us out here in the general public believe supporting cop killers is offensive and someone who does shouldn’t be allowed near the White House.  The White House represents America and frankly, that peice of trash “Common” (like common folk?), doesn’t represent me.

I have determined that liberals have the brains of rocks and really should not be allowed near sharp objects. 

The Army moved to a more “PC” way of dealing with people during the Clinton Administration.  Stress cards in Basic Training, Touchy Feely classes, etc.

Now that era is coming back to haunt us.

There are people in the military who don’t give a damn about political correctness and call a spade a spade; but evidently, none of these people with backbone were around Major Nidal Malik Hasan.    The murders on that day are also the responsibility of Hasan’s chain of command.  Hind-sight is 20/20, but anyone with two brain cells can understand that PC got in the way of stopping this man.  Hasan should have been kicked to the curb years ago and put on the terrorist watch list.  Instead – he was allowed to roam free on a military installation, in uniform, to plot and plan a massacre.

Senators Lieberman & Collins have released a report on the shooting, “A Ticking Time Bomb – Counterterrorism Lessons from the U.S. Government’s Failure to Prevent the Fort Hood Attack.”  (Link is to the .pdf document of the report)

When will the next attack on American soil happen because of Political Correctness?  Only the radical muslim knows.

Its high time this country wake up and realize there are just some people who need to be dealt with harshly; religion, color of skin be damned.

Evidently Client #9 and his trusty liberal side-kick couldn’t think of anything intelligent to talk about on their first show on CNN, so they fell back on the liberal talking-point of bashing Sarah Palin.    I really do believe the left is secretly in love with Palin and since they are liberals and to love, or even like, anything from the right (great legs can do that to men), they have to come out attacking.  Considering Client #9 has the morals of an alley cat, any attack on Sarah Palin is nothing more than a masking of his own secret sick desires.

We do not need another reality tv-show about washed up actors and their spouses.   And if your face looks like someone ran over it with a fork lift, tines down, maybe you should accompany your wife to her next botox appointment.  I’m just saying.

While the DemoRATS have always been known to bring more dead to the voting booths on election day, now they are actually paying them ahead of time for their votes.   Come on now – are you really surprised any of this happened?  This is the over-bloated federal government that has gotten too big for its britches and doesn’t know what its right hand is doing from its left. 

Verizon needs to bring on the Torch instead of the iPhone.   I doubt there is any cellphone/smartphone out there that could drag my Blackberry out of my hands – nor even consider swithing to AT&T for service (shudder).

Facebook has decided to bring Groups and Lists out of the closet and flash them around under everyone’s noses … there will be a rash of groups created and members added to said groups, only to have them eventually find the “Leave Group” link and run away.   There is no “Decline” option when someone adds you to their newly created “I NEED 5 NAILS IN FARMVILLE” group.  And if you’re stuck in a location (ie: work) where your FB access is limited to your Blackberry, you end up getting tons of emails from said new group you’ve been forced into, because the only way to stop group email notifications is inside said group.  This means you are going to get bombarded until you can either a) find a local internet cafe to sign into FB and leave group, or b) wait until you get home.  By the time you get home you will be so pissed off you not only leave the group I NEED 5 NAILS IN FARMVILLE you report the creator, de-friend them and then block them.  (Doesn’t matter if its your husband right? j/k)  This blog post on just that is perfect to show how dangerous FB not giving the Decline or Opt-In/Out feature can be.

The top attorney in the United States … FOR … the United States is threatening to sue the State of Arizona for a law they recently passed.  I’m sure that is his right, but I’m not an attorney.  It all seems like cry baby tactics to me.

He is following in the antics of his boss, the president in regard to that new law.

The president said it was the state that was “misguided” and that the Arizona measure would “undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans.”

Obama said he instructed the Justice Department to “examine the civil rights and other implications” of the new law. Justice officials said they were considering their options, and it wasn’t clear Friday what they might do. …and we’ve all heard the “don’t go out for ice cream in Arizona” crack Obama made.

Now we find out Eric Holder – the highest attorney in the land – hasn’t even read the Arizona Law he is threatening to sue over.

In television interviews over the weekend, Attorney General Eric Holder warned that Arizona’s new anti-illegal immigration law could lead to racial profiling and might prompt Latinos to stop cooperating with police. However, it emerged at a House hearing Thursday that Holder hasn’t actually read the statute.

“I have not had a chance to. I’ve glanced at it. I have not read it,” Holder acknowledged in response to questions from Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas).

“It’s ten pages. It’s a lot shorter than the health care bill, which was 2,000 pages long. I’ll give you my copy of it, if you would like to — to have a copy,” Poe quipped during the House Judiciary Committee oversight hearing.  via: Politico: Holder hasn’t read Ariz. immigration bill

If you have spent any time on Twitter you by now have seen words with a hashtag (#) in front of it.  This is used by people in Twitter Search to find tweets on that particular topic.  I follow in Tweetdeck the #tcot hashtag.

But lately I am seeing more and more tweets with more hashtags than words.  Example:

As you can see what I’ve colored, there are 8 hashtags. Uh? Why?

I can appreciate you wanting people seeing your tweet, but come on!  That just makes me want to block you. 

I’ve seen more and  more people complaining about this same thing.  Its an infection that needs to be stopped, along with another trend that drives me nuts …

#FollowXXXX … another hashtag.   It started with #followfriday, which was fine.  It looks like this:

Manners people … its all about manners.  I don’t need my timeline filled up with all this mess.  If you do it once, fine, but more and more people are repeating, or re-tweeting their on #follow tweets over and over. 

Just this week I have unfollowed and blocked four people for over excessive use of the hashtag and follows.

I am sick and damn tired of hearing his voice on every news show, talk show, top and bottom of the hour news report on any radio station and god help us if you “watch” the news.  They put his damn face into almost every fucking story they are talking about, even if its women’s pads.

HELP ME!

God help me. 

Saturday I took an “Obama” break.  No TV.  No Podcasts.  No radio on talk.  No Twitter.

It was so peaceful I almost did it Sunday. 

As soon as I turned on Fox and Friends at 7 am Sunday morning first thing out of Clayton’s mouth, “President Obama …” MUTE!

I don’t think I turned the sound on for their whole show longer than three minutes before smacking the mute button again. 

I finally gave up and shut the television off.    The SGM was watching movies in the other room so I didn’t have to worry about hearing or seeing Obama the whole day. 

I caught up on my soaps via the web, played Virtual Families, tried out a couple other games from my favorite websites and enjoyed.

Obama Fatigue.  Now I know how the Berkley left felt about Bush.

The arrogance of these liberals is beyond the pale.

According to John Kerry (D-Vietnam Vet), we can’t be trusted with our own money to invest it how they (meaning the liberals) want it invested.   Screw you.  Its my money, I’ll invest it how I want you jerk.

Okay, here is some cuteness to take the edge of the previous paragraph.

Rush Limbaugh went on a tear yesterday.  He said what I and a lot of folks I know have felt for a long time.  We need to start treating the liberals/democrats the same way they’ve been treating us.  When we get back power in Washington – and it will happen – no sitting on our hands and just letting the criminals get away with what they did.  File criminal charges against Barney Frank, throw Chris Dodd in jail, and keep firing until all the dead-liberal wood that wants to destroy this country is GONE!  We must stop being the party of the mam-bi pambi members.  We-Must-Fight-Back!

It’s going to be a bigger, more powerful, stronger government — and we’re going to turn it against the left in ways they could have never imagined.  So, Sue in Virginia Beach, we can’t do any of this if we panic.  I know some of you are saying, “Rush, it all sounds great, but who’s going to do this?”  Well, folks, I admit that you look out on the horizon right now and you don’t see a single person in the political class willing to do this.  But before these people on the left get through, there is going to be so much anger and outrage among the people who made this country work, who are now being targeted as the enemies.  You who have jobs, you who have played by the rules, you who are not asking anybody for your next kitchen, you’re the enemy — and it isn’t going to be long before the people of this country get fed up enough that they’re going to want to turn the tables on the people who are trying to destroy America as we have always known it.

I was just telling the SGM the other day, “Some day the media is going to have a real story and we are all going to ignore them.” They’ve cried wolf too many times with this president and fooled many into believing them. So the day will come they will actually do their job and we are just going to flip them off and turn away.

I stopped taking them after I left the Army in 1980.  Never failed, shot one day, in bed sick to death the next.

Since I was diagnosed a diabetic the doctor has been asking me to take one – not demanding, but asking.  Each time I’ve refused.  

What hair brained thought got up my ass this year to do it I have no clue but they were offered free at work, so I got one.

Every other week since I’ve been sick.  This past week I was sick again and lost time at work!

Dead virus my ass.
