Unimportant News

Monday, 9 August 2010, 10:09

Each day were are assualted with news that just flat out is unimportant.

Why do news organizations bother?

Case in point:

Rosie O’Donnell Claims Her Marriage Was an Act of Defiance

Really … who cares?   She was unimportant when she was on The View and long before that.  Yes, a liberal waste of good skin admitting something like this may give some people an “ah uh” moment, but all it did was ruin my breakfast when I heard it.

Yesterday, on her satellite radio program, O’Donnell freely admitted that her 2004 marriage to then-girlfriend Kelli Carpenter was nothing more than a political statement. The intended recipient of the message was no less than the leader of the establishment, George Bush.

Trust me on this Ms. O’Donnell — President GW Bush probably didn’t give you marrying one nano-second of thought.  You doing anything only gives people heartburn so we don’t bother.

Agreed, completely. Yet, how many people watch and “care” about the Kardashians? Evidence of how stupid the public really is. Also, it’s why MSNBC and Fox get more viewers than local news. Both bases can get all fired up about issues only important to them (agreeing or disagreeing) rather than watching the pointless crap that’s put out by local TV news and local newspapers. We create it, and then whine about it. A cycle, a vicious one, it is.
