It Was All About Michelle?
When Tony held a gun to the bad guy and told him just why he’d done everything in the past 24 hours, I was as dumb struck as Jack ..
It was all for Michelle?
Okay … now we find out she was pregnant with his son.
But still … all the people that died, and are dying (Jack), was because a mad man killed his wife and son.
Of course the SGM chimed in and said he’d go after anyone that hurt me.
But would you kill two plane load’s of people? Would you commit your once best friend to a horrible death?
Could you walk away from it all and sleep at night knowing you avenged the death in spite of all the people you had to kill to do it?
I am still stunned the whole season was based on one person’s revenge.
That could be the point of it all. Some people are wired that way. Jack always does what is in his heart, even if its not the “lawful” thing to do. Can we then justify Tony doing what he did because of how he felt in his heart?
Other thoughts …
It was sweet to see little Ms. Taylor getting her comeuppances ala her mother the Prez. Loved it! We adore Aaron Pierce and it was good to see him back in the saddle and doing what he does best – the right thing.
The most surprising part of the show was … Kim. Like most 24 viewers, except the males of course, I cannot stand Kim. She screeches too much like her mother Teri and is about as dumb as a box of rocks. (Do we have to bring up the cougar scene?)
BUT – Kim has grown up and it showed. The acting was much improved and the maturity was evident. Marriage and motherhood brought out the best of Kim Bauer. She didn’t wine, she didn’t snivel, she did as her dad asked and walked away. The old Kim wouldn’t have. Bravo!
About half way through this season, I was seriously considering just trashing this show and moving away. Too much “green shit” and Janis overload.
The producers must have realized viewers weren’t too happy with the “politically correct Janis” and the “go green” commercials because Janis actually had me cheering for her at the end and the green commercials seemed to fall by the way side.
Yes, I’ll wait with baited breath for the next 24.
Your thoughts?

I honestly don’t even know where to start with this season. It bounced from terrorist plot to terrorist plot like it was on some damned crazy pogo stick. I actually had to remind myself what happened to the First Gentleman when he popped up at the end!
Tony’s revenge for Michelle… er… okay.
The first thing I said out loud to my family when we saw Kim, “Aw crap… there’s a cougar somewhere in that office.” The cougar has always epitomized to me that watching this show really is like watching a horrible car accident you can’t pull your eyes away from. It gets SO much wrong, so many things that I would never forgive another show for, and yet, here I am, season after season. (I also said several times during the airport “AND THEN A COUGAR LEAPS ON HER!” )
It was a weak ass season except for Renee. Really liked the addition of her and the arc her character took. Otherwise, pretty middle of the road. Season 5 still ranks as my favorite.

It did bounce around a lot and is probably one of the reasons I got sick of it. Tony bad, Tony good, Tony bad again, Tony … revengeful? Please!
But, Kim’s Great Cougar Adventure will always haunt the show, but even the SGM agreed the character was much improved over the last time we saw her. But some people will never be able to get past that cougar stuff.

Sean,
I agree with you – lots of jumping from one terrorist scheme to another. It reminded me alot of Season 4 (same one-terrorist-plot-after-another, new characters/new setup, etc.) I actually liked the fact that Jack had to fight the FBI’s rules and showed them that he was right.
About Tony…At first I liked the double agent switch they made him do. However, the last one kind of pissed me off. Michelle? He was doing it because they killed Michelle (and now his son)? Um, Tony was never that shallow (at least I didn’t think he was). He was always the one to do the right thing. (Remember the suicide pills in S3?) Jack was right – Michelle’s rolling in her grave because of that. She’d never forgive Tony for his actions.
About Kim…I was glad to see they made her an actual three-dimensional character this season and not the whiny, poor-poor-me she was in the previous seasons (esp. Season 5). I actually enjoyed the scenes she was in (stabbing with pen in airport FTW!) She actually behaved like a Bauer.

I’ll agree Kim was MUCH better this year… even without a cougar threatening her.
However, this season shall always suck for one main reason… NO SOD! -single tear runs down my cheek-
