Presidential Resume

Thursday, 2 April 2009, 7:02

Most of us who pay attention to politics know President Obama has community organizer as his only job on his resume and he’s now running (and destroying) the country.

So I got to thinking, “What would people actually want to see on a presidential candidates resume?“.

resumeI’ve always felt more comfortable with a former governor.  They’ve had to handle state government issues, issues that are magnified by 10 when dealing with the United States Government, but still, its a good training ground.

They must provide a certified copy of live birth as a United States Citizen.  Now I wouldn’t have a problem with a person who was born to military parents, because we all know people born in Germany while their dad was stationed overseas are still considered natural born American citizens.

They don’t necessarily have to have a spotless record either.  We were all teenagers and young adults in college at some point.  So what if they did or didn’t inhale? No one is Lilly white.  Of course, murder and treason should disqualify them from the get go.

The biggest issue is the experience.  President Obama ran to be a US Senator, then immediately started running for President.  He didn’t do much in the Senate to have any experience in how things are done at all in Congress.

What do you want to see on a presidential candidates resume?

For me, I think that first and foremost would be honesty.

We already have a congress that ignores the will of the people and a new president that seems to think he has a mandate to socialize the private sector. It is disturbing when you look at all the things that matter to ‘We the People’ and compare it to what is coming out of Washington.

Disconnect? Maybe, but it’s likely just a little bit of ‘preferred ignorance for bliss’ because it does appear that they have an agenda far different than what We the People elected them for.

This is not about hope. It is all about change… 180 degrees worth of it, from free markets and a Constitution to a state regulated economy and a boss who controls everything.

    Some dare call that Communism.

I agree with the executive experience as a governor. But there are a handful of legislators on the federal level whose actions equal their rhetoric when it comes to conservative and/or Republican Party principles. I can probably count them on two hands, which is really sad.

In addition, I would be happy if they had some private sector business management experience before entering the public sector.

Having implemented a satisfactory and proven solution to any major problem is a plus and being technologically savvy would be helpful too.

I would prefer that they never be a paid lobbyist – EVER.

Ideally, Mitt Romney has this kind of resume’, when you think about it. He just couldn’t pass muster on some of the social issues and his religion, unfortunately.
