What Makes Me Happy?

Karen @ Pondering Penguin was tagged with a meme titled “What Makes You Happy?”

It’s been floating around in my head since reading it.  We hear little girls squeal when Hanna Montana hits the stage, more mature ladies swoon and fan themselves when Tom Jones walks onto a stage singing, “She’s a Lady”, and the SGM loves the top of a tree during hunting season.  All make someone happy.  Happiness is situational and individual.

So … what makes Jo happy?   Let’s see what a few things are …

1. Remembering the last time I saw the SGM walk off an overseas flight, in uniform, knowing it was the last.

2.  An Egg McMuffin.

3.  Accomplishing something no-one else in the office would even try to do.

4.  Roscoe when he stretches in the morning while I rub his belly and he’s licking my face.

5.  Looking into the clear night sky at a full moon and knowing there is a God.

6.  The feeling you get when a new season of your favorite TV show starts, or the next sequel in the J.D. Robb “In Death” Series comes out.

7.  Finding someone took the time to comment on one of my blog posts (and I don’t have to mark it spam!)

8. Finishing up a good work-out and seeing the scale slip a number.

9. Living in the greatest country on Earth.

10.  Knowing tomorrow will bring more rewards.

So what makes you happy?

Have a great day!

Made me think about my own happys:

Oldest grown son married to a great woman (hard to refer to her as a woman sometimes, simply because we’ve known her since she was six!) and they seem to bring joy to each other even 6 months after the wedding.

Youngest son playing a tune on his banjo and sounding like a pro (to me anyway!).

Husband who is and always has been, my very best friend in the entire world for the past 26+ years. He really is my sunshine!

My horses, who I dreamed about from childhood, and finally made the dream come true!

The dogs, wagging their tails, happy to see me.

The cat, snoozing on the couch on a cold winter day.

Opening a new book, reading a few pages and knowing it’s going to be a good one that will keep my attention.

My oldest son’s smile (he’s 25) and my youngest son’s dimple when he smiles (he’s 23). He got that dimple from me, same side too!

Being free to make choices even if they’re wrong.

    Feeling good and staying healthy.

Thanks for making me think about it on a very cold Janurary day!

Leslie´s last blog post … Good news!
