President G.W. Bush

A great man will leave office in January 2009, turning it over to another man who believes he can do great things for this country. I’m sure each new president has dreams of “change” and “hope”, but when reality steps in and smacks them upside the head – hope and change can fly out the window on gossamer wings.

Jeffrey Scott Shapiro writes in the Opinion Page of The Wall Street Journal,

The treatment President Bush has received from this country is nothing less than a disgrace. The attacks launched against him have been cruel and slanderous, proving to the world what little character and resolve we have. The president is not to blame for all these problems. He never lost faith in America or her people, and has tried his hardest to continue leading our nation during a very difficult time.

Our failure to stand by the one person who continued to stand by us has not gone unnoticed by our enemies. It has shown to the world how disloyal we can be when our president needed loyalty — a shameful display of arrogance and weakness that will haunt this nation long after Mr. Bush has left the White House.

I have no respect for President Elect Barack Hussein Obama and never will. I will respect the Office of the President, but not the man.

And if you think I should, stop and remember how much you on the left respected the man leaving in January 2009 and ask yourself if you would expect any better treatment for your man by the example you set.
