It had to do with Obama's intention to 'redistribute' the wealth, so to speak. But as I recall, Obama also said that many of his pet social programs would be hampered by the Wall Street bailout which, by the way, he voted for. Just as a guess, his way to refill those social programs and redistribute said wealth? Taxing the middle class into the grave.
