Powell Endorsement
So the former Secretary of State Colin Powell came out and endorsed Barack H. Obama for President.
Raise your hand if you are surprised.
Didn’t think so.
Come on people – Barack is Black. Powell is Black. DUH!!!
What is disturbing is that Gen. Powell forgot really really fast how the left treated him when he went to work for the Bush Administration. Rightwingsparkle highlights some of nicer things here said by the left about Gen. Powell.
His endorsement of Barack H. Obama is clearly based on race alone (or hoping for a job in the administration), or that he was thrown over for a women.
I don’t believe this endorsement does anything to the race – because its all about race.
If you want to deny it, go ahead and believe what you want. I forget that with the liberals, what’s in the past isn’t important if what’s going on now gives them what they want: Power.
Some twit on Twitter tried to feed me the line that Gen. Powell was a national treasure (belch). I send you back to Rightwingsparkle’s website to remind you how much a treasure Powell really is was.
He’s not. But the young on the side of The One have been fed a line of socialist bullshit in college and high school that the past doesn’t matter, otherwise Ayers, Wright and a few other things about Obama’s history would be important to them.
So you all on the left wet yourself with glee that a man you dispised and called Uncle Tom when he was in the Bush Administration is now endorsing your messiah.
Remember, lock-step, Heil Obama!

Actually, I am surprised. While I am aware of many facets of Powell politics would make me not want to vote for him, race issues are not what makes him tick. (except for credit due when credit is due, ie Buffalo Soldiers) If you read this as I did, it is not an endorsement of Obama, it is a dis-endorsement of McCain. If he were a fan of Obama, for politics or race, he would have stated it earlier. I think, considering McCains long political career, that somewhere along the line McCain and Powell crossed swords and this is the price to be paid.

I read somewhere, and I cannot locate it right now, that Powell actually gave the max amount to the McCain camp early on.
But now I find this: “Obama: I Would Make Powell an Adviser in My Administration”
Guess Powell just bought himself a position uh?

I think we have to view this in context to the basic foundations of this particular election.
To wit: Because Obama (or maybe moreso his campaign minions) had decided from the outset to make this vote a statement of race; that is exactly what we got and are getting.
I remember thinking that if Colin Powell were to have run, he would have been a good pick for millions regardless of race. He has a firm trust and foundation of support that stretches well beyond the race factor, and even the blue/red divide right from the start.
But, Obama did not. The race card is being played to make up for shortcomings that are otherwise being ignored. And if you hadn’t noticed, the reason most folks are afraid to criticize this water-walking candidate, is because they fear being labeled a racist. Adding to that fear, imagine yourself a black Colin Powell being labeled the same… in a twisted sort of way…
Unfortunately, it works all too well.
