Not American Idol
Another good one from the email box.
* You couldn’t get a job at McDonald’s and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
* You couldn’t become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
* You couldn’t get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.
* You couldn’t join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.
* You couldn’t get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.
BUT….
From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate.
That’s how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan.
143 days?
We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that’s all it is – a start.
AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public seems to feel comfortable with this and campaigning for him.
We wouldn’t accept this in our own line of work, yet some are OK with this for the President of the United States of America?
Come on folks we are not voting for American Idol.

Right on, Jo. Wonderful post!
I wonder if any libs have actually thought about how many days Obama actually did work in the U.S. Senate?
Probably not…

This is a great point. But the Left does not care. He is the one they have elected to be their President. Lets just hope that by November the Country as a whole, and the swing states specifically realize that Obama for President was a bad idea, that should have never gone this far.
I do not:
Want to pay more taxes!
Want to suffer socialized medical treatment.
Want to allow two branches of our government and possibly the third to become liberal.
Want my hard work, saved wealth, and sacrifice, to be redistributed to people (not all even being Americans)who sit around all day and do nothing, and do not try to better themselves.
Want to continue shipping my dollars overseas to other countries for oil/energy.
None of the issues above have to do with Religion or Abortion, yet they are all real issues and real problems in America in 2008.
Lets hope that since our choice is McCain or Obama, that McCain is the man and top come November 3rd., 2008.

It’s always been my position that we should try and avoid the Liberal/Conservative divide that creates two electorates. And in this election, the choice is so clear that the conservative/GOP tent could easily rename itself the Party Of Common Sense.
But alas, in the end, there will still be those far, far left liberals that would vote for Joseph Stalin. You just can’t do anything for the lunatic fringe, lol!
