Zebra in Tiger Country

Auburn University’s Vet Hospital has a new tenant.

A Zebra.

(blink blink)

Yes, I said a Zebra - found in Georgia on a road outside of Atlanta.

(blink, blink, blink)

Yes - would I lie to you?  No of course not.

from WTVM.com (local ABC station) on April 10th:

AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM/WAGA) — It was a strange sighting for motorists on I-75 — a baby zebra, about 2 to 3 months old, fell from a truck, Tuesday and was hit by a passing vehicle. Once mended, the zebra will be transported to an animal haven, called Noah’s Ark. Diane Smith, assistant to the director at Noah’s Ark, says they have named the zebra “Evidence” because police kept referring to him as evidence.

The baby zebra, named “Evidence, was taken to Auburn University for treatment.  A vet there says he has suffered some pretty serious injuries including a crushed pelvis, some nerve damage, and soft tissue injuries. Surgery expenses are expected to exceed $5,000.00.

Please follow the link to see the wonderful video and pictures of Evidence.

According to Noah’s Ark’s website, Evidence came through surgery well and is recovering.

A Zebra in Tiger country … my my.

  2. As much as I make fun of the “Cow College” I have always heard that their veterinary school and services are kick-ass. All joking aside, that’s a seriously good thing.
