Bit Bites

by Jo | April 8th, 2008

Those that are Laura Ingraham fans know that on Fridays she has the sound bite contest. I got to thinking about it and thought it would be fun to have my own bites.  Not a contest, just some of the stupidist things being said by supposedly smart folks, or really good things being said by really smart folks.

Here we go!

Ted Turner.  Amazing how his mind works … really, I mean just how much window pane is he putting in his morning milk?

Regarding global warming:

If steps aren’t taken to stem global warming, “We’ll be eight degrees hotter in 30 or 40 years and basically none of the crops will grow,” Turner said during a wide-ranging, hour-long interview with PBS’s Charlie Rose that aired Tuesday.

“Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals,” said Turner, 69. “Civilization will have broken down. The few people left will be living in a failed state — like Somalia or Sudan — and living conditions will be intolerable.”

We’re too many people; that’s why we have global warming,” he said. “Too many people are using too much stuff.”

Turner suggested that “on a voluntary basis, everybody in the world’s got to pledge to themselves that one or two children is it.”

I’m stunned into silence, just stunned.  These liberals are supposedly more intelligent then us knuckle-dragging, inbreed, gun-toting conservatives and this is the best they have?

Nancy Pelosi. She has to be the worst speaker in known history. And she’s so hell-bent on controlling things, she’s even telling Gen. Petraeus what he can’t say in his next report.

In a news conference together with the chairmen of the House committees on Armed Services and Foreign Affairs, she refers to the recent fighting in Iraq’s southern port city of Basra, saying Petraeus and Crocker should not attempt to put a positive spin on events.

“We have to know the real ground truths of what is happening there, not put a shine on events because of a resolution [of the situation in Basra] that looks less violent when it has in fact been dictated by someone [Iraqi Shiite cleric Moqtada] al-Sadr who can grant or withhold that call for violence or not,” said Nancy Pelosi.

Too much botox maybe?

Well this is just a start.  I’m sure there will be more said in the coming weeks to add to this.

Enjoy!

  1. I saw that Teddy Fonda quote a few days ago.

Cannibalism? Too many acid trips, for sure.

He really should be careful or some blue meanie might come along and bop him with a giant green apple…
