No More DRUDGE for Me

February 28th, 2008 · 8 Comments · News

From this day forward, all my links to the Drudge report either here or in my favorites are being removed.

Matt Drudge is more concerned with his own importance than the life of a high-profile person wanting to serve his country.

Shame on you Matt.

You have crossed the line into the Main Stream Media like the New York Slimes.

But then I’m sure you won’t miss a wink of sleep over it will you?

Drudge = Unimportant.

Wow! I had not heard this. I seldom go to Drudge anyway. I am able to find more stories now before they even hit his website using my Google reader.

Shame on the Austrialian magazine and shame on Drudge for repeating it.

I think it is awesome that Prince Harry is there.

Jo, I couldn’t agree with you more. Matt Drudge has gone over the line this time. He has not only endangered the Prince, but all of the men in his unit.

I have posted previously how much I respect what Prince Harry is doing. A man in his position could have easily just skimmed through his obligations and then gone back to being the playboy, safe in the knowledge that dad and older brother are taking care of the important stuff. Instead, he is showing a true love of country and a bravery that would make his mother proud, and should make us ALL proud.

All that - and yet these media outlets feel their readership numbers and their judgement calls are more important than protecting a group of young men & women on the front lines fighting for our freedom.

There are days I wonder if “freedom of the press” was a bad idea.

I agree that he seems to be more concerned with self-promotion above all else.

However, I will continue to go to Drudge and, if he’s the only source of a story, link to him on my little blog.

Basically, I’ll treat him as a useful tool.

Because, honestly, when you think of Matt Drudge now, don’t you think “what a tool?”

    Basil darling, Tool or Fool?
  • 7 Basil // Mar 3, 2008 at 5:26 pm

Urban Dictionary offers either as a synonym.

I was actually thinking of Merriam-Webster’s definition 2d (vulgar).
