Jay, there is a HUGE!!!! difference between Rudy and Hillary. I know what you're feeling and I am with you (leaning Fred) but there's something you have to remember....

Hillary is a socialist democrat who wants the government to control your life. She would have support from democrats in congress. If she thought she could pull a Hugo Chavez she probably would. I'm quite serious in that opinion.

ANY Republican, even one with socialist/liberal leanings, is Republican enough to be on our ticket. He would be, to at least some extent, at the mercy of the Republicans in congress and the party in general.

So, fight for your candidates in the primaries (that's what they are for!!!) but please, please consider voting for the chosen nominee in the general. They ARE better than Hillary!!

…drug companies to give up some profit, unless they can prove that at least 80% is being returned to research to cure what is out there killing us, to keep the prices down.

This is the only one I disagree with...not because it shouldn't happen but because I generally shudder at anything that includes government intervention. The government threatening a company isn't the best solution. You don't get quality work that way (do you do your best work when you've just been threatened?) and it just opens the door for more legislation.

I do think that the healthcare system should be opened up - we should know what the services cost, we should have freedom to buy insurance from any company out there, and there should be freedom from overwhelming, unreasonable lawsuits.

Once the healthcare system is open, you & I could do a lot more screaming about what we want in our healthcare. If the doctors, insurance companies and drug companies heard us screaming and knew we could take our business elsewhere, they would do what we wanted. Competition, and the threat of lost profits while the other guy rakes in the money, are the best way.

My suggestions. If we want the most principled conservative...Duncan Hunter. Of course he has no chance, and I can't figure out why. If we add electability to the factor, I'd go with Fred Thompson.

I will hold my nose and vote for Mitt or Huckabee, I won't vote for Rudy at all. There is no difference of any significance between him and Hillary.
