Week-END Wrap Up

by Jo | November 17th, 2007

Welcome to the weekend everyone!  Thanks again to those that have stopped by this past week and hopefully, my diabetes informational posts have helped someone.  On the 14th, National Diabetes Day, the local Mayor was tested, along with others in the City Government.  I was glad to see this making our news.  Although the story says the nurse got a “tiny amount of blood”, let me tell you when they showed it on the news - it was a gusher!!!

I don’t just read news and diabetes related blogs, I also keep up with blogs about blogging, and one of those is The Blog Herald.  I don’t relate to all the posts, but this one titled “Blog Roll Surfing: Do Some Web Wandering“, was fun.  Go read it and follow the instructions (nothing illegal going on here).   From doing that, I found the blog Wake up America

For those of you with laptops who plant themselves in front of the tv and put it on your lap, what do you do about the danged heat from the sucker!!??   I’ve looked at cooling pads and reflector pads on the net, but can’t seem to find anything that would work well.  I went to move the heat away from my lap, but not back into the laptop.  What do you do?

Now stuff I’ve found this week interesting:

Sunday Additions

  1. Happy Weekend right back at ya! I’m tired of the hot lap, too. I’ve seen a nifty looking board type of thing that extends across and rests on the arms of a chair, which may be the ticket for me since I’m in my recliner with the laptop. Haven’t committed to it yet, though.

  2. I’ve found a couple myself on Overstock.com, but they seem to be more for putting under the laptop on a desk or table, not the lap.
