Regardless of the how or why, people are losing their homes to a fire that is run amok with those ferocious winds. After those stand-alone facts, the possibility that they were intentionally set (arson) makes it still worse. This event doesn’t need a bunch of fatheaded political types trying to cop a cheap feel from it. These fires are no doubt tragic but another tragedy is in how they are being used as a political tool.
