Teeth that is.
This morning the dentist and I will be spending an estimated three hours together. Me in a comfy chair, he doing all the work.
Eight crowns that are no longer doing their job have to be replaced. For those that have have crowns, you understand the process of the prep-work needed. Multiply by eight and that’s enough to make your head spin.
I have really bad teeth; have had bad teeth since birth. Throughout the years I’ve gone off and on with dental insurance and regular treatments. I have had teeth pulled because the expense of keeping it was more than the loss of the whole tooth. One point I had outstanding dental insurance (not now btw) and that is when I had a lot of work done; replacing my top eight teeth with great looking crowns.
Last year the crowns started slipping off and when I went into to have it replaced, that’s when we decided to send me to the periodontist and have a treatment there first. Being a diabetic, both doctors wanted to ensure that when the crowns were replaced, they had the best underpinning available.
So - three hours, eight new crowns (and a $900 partial) I should look wonderful again - well at least when I smile.
Hey - did you know there is special credit available for medical work you can apply for? Check this out.
Update
All done at about 1 pm. Took much longer than the three hours originally scheduled, but there was a personnel issue at the dentist. I’m numb and a bit sore, but the temps look great. Eight teeth readied at once for new ones in three weeks. I have an amazing dentist. (But, green beans from a can sucks for lunch!)

Yeah, I know how you feel, just not 8 at a time. I have one in need of replacing right now and one broken one. I’ve been putting it off as they are molars and not visible! Yuk.

You poor thing! That doesn’t in the least bit sound fun.
And canned green beans as a meal, nope - not very yummy either. Did they say how many days you had to eat that way? Hopefully by the weekend you will be eating normally (Well of course that is tomorrow LOL)
Just think - at the end of three weeks, you’ll look like this
Can’t beat it can ya? He’s awful cute!
Great blog and I hope you feel better soon. Have a great weekend!
