Week End Wrap Up
The week has been an interesting one again. The SGM (R) finished up his course for work and I once again have become his student. When we first got married, he was an instructor for one of the courses given on post here and I would help him practice by being the “dumb private” asking the stupid questions. Fifteen years later and I’m a “dump student” again. Oh the class is the same, just now he’s retired doing it. People are trying to find him better paying jobs, but just the other night he told me, “I’m retired and doing what I want to do.” That’s all that counts doesn’t it? I did my level best to set us up financially while he was in Afghanistan so he could do the job he wanted, not the one we needed.
Premire week has kicked off on the television and we’ve enjoyed Dancing with the Stars, Criminal Minds, all three CSIs, and the last was Stargate Atlantis last night (on the DVR). We are sure enjoying the DVR we upgraded to about three months ago. I wish I hadn’t been so stubborn about getting it a long time ago.
While watching Meerkat Manor last night, the house phone rang. Only a couple people call us on the house phone but the person calling us was … hubby? We looked at each other, then back at the phone … then realized Roscoe had stepped on my Blackberry that was laying on the sofa and hit the speed dial. Mystery solved. I moved the BB away from puppy toes.
The regular news and politics have been all over the place this week. I wish for a non-election season soon. Here is what I’ve found interesting – add yours
- Tim Russert gave Hillary a one, two punch at a liberal debate now less.
- Vick added to the pile of charges against him. ::: sigh :::
- Students in Colorado don’t like God.
- Don Suber pokes fun at the new TV viewing season.
- Too Many email accounts? Try Fuser according to Web Worker Daily.
- Craig escaped hell just in the nick of time!
Additions from Saturday Afternoon:
- Newt is a No-Go.
- John Edwards doesn’t seem to think too highly of the black community in this country. Yeah, John, that’s gonna get you elected. Geez
- New stop signs unveiled in Chicago. You really gotta see these. No joke!
- Please make the Pondering Penguin a daily read for yourself. I really enjoy Karen’s writing style and views on the events going on in the world and in her world. I wish I could write as well as she does.
More to come …

We should all be so blessed as to be retired and doing the work you want to do, not have to do. Lucky guy, smart, too, as he picked you as his partner!
