Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards said on Sunday that his universal health care proposal would require that Americans go to the doctor for preventive care.
is a slippery slope that leads to SOCIALISM. Do you really want the government controlling how often you go to the doctor?? Once you let them get their sticky little fingers into this part of your life, what is next??
“It requires that everybody be covered. It requires that everybody get preventive care,” he told a crowd sitting in lawn chairs in front of the Cedar County Courthouse. “If you are going to be in the system, you can’t choose not to go to the doctor for 20 years. You have to go in and be checked and make sure that you are OK.”
He noted, for example, that women would be required to have regular mammograms in an effort to find and treat “the first trace of problem.” Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, announced earlier this year that her breast cancer had returned and spread.
See, this is how the socialists operate. His wife has cancer, and now they are healthcare/insurance experts, and she’ll be used as a poster girl for his plan. If nothing else, the media will add a note about her cancer to every story about Edwards and healthcare.
These people should NOT be in charge of our government!!!

This is the main complaint a lot of people I’ve heard talk about, that healthcare is not wellnessess care (is that a word?). I know my insurance doesn’t pay 100% for preventative care … but you’re right - this is the way for socialism to come into play. We don’t want or need Canada, France or European type universal healthcare - its failing.
