The house lights are flashing. The crowd is sitting on the edge of their seats, some holding up home-made signs for their favorite. Others drunk from the excitement alone stare wide-eyed at the stage set before them.
The announcer comes to the middle of the ring in Hooter’s type clothing, see through at best, announcing the next fight.
The challengers emerge from the back of the stage to cheers and jeers from the crowd. Their theme music blares through the auditorium and they show their “assets” to the crowd as they move toward the center ring. They enter the ring and warm up as the Hooter’s announcer brings down the champions.
To to the theme music from “Rocky“, they bust through the paper wall placed in front of the back of the stage. Also to the back drop of cheers and jeers from the crowd, they enter the ring. The two opponents huff and buff at each other from their respective corners and then the lights are shut down except for one bathing the ring in a bluish hue.
The Hooter’s girl is replaced with the official announcer for the match.
“Today in the ring we have a battle royale between the Republicans and the Democrats,” he sing-songs, then starts the whole process off with, “Let’s get ready to Rumble!!!!!!”
You’d think you had a WWE Pay-for-View going on in the House last week, right down to screaming, booing and stomping feet of the Republicans as they walked out after an attempted stolen vote by the Democrats (aka Liberal Socialist Left).
Several news sources have the story and even with certain “leanings” of the source you still get the gist of what happened. As the Democrats accused the Republicans (ie: GW) of stealing the election in 2000, they tried to “steal” a vote away from the Republicans and the American people in 2007.
House Democrats apologized Friday for wrestling what appeared to be a winning vote tally away from Republicans on Thursday night.
Republicans continued to steam, however, over the episode in which they appeared to be the winners by a 215-213 tally on a procedural motion designed to make sure illegal immigrants would not get certain benefits from an agriculture spending bill.
Instead, with several lawmakers milling in the well of the House registering votes, Rep. Michael McNulty, D-N.Y., quickly gaveled the vote to a close, saying the GOP measure had failed on a 214-214 tie vote.
Republicans erupted, chanting “shame, shame, shame,” and then walked out in protest after McNulty permitted further Democrats to switch their votes to prevail on a 216-212 tally. Despite winning that tally, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., moved for a revote as permitted under the rules and Democrats subsequently prevailed.

U.S. House Erupts Over Stolen Vote
So what was all the brew-haha over? According to The Republican Whip Eric Cantor, “Republicans moved to recommit the bill to committee, in order to add language prohibiting any taxpayer funds under the agriculture programs from going to illegal immigrants.” Yup, you read it right - the Liberal Socialist Left was once more trying to force the taxpayers to cough up more money for “illegals”.
You know the best thing about the 2006 “win” by the Liberal Socialist Left was that now the Republicans in Washington have to work for what they stand for and their pay-check.
This is how things should work. Each side fighting for what they believe is right, not having total control to shove things down the others’ throats without confrontation or disagreement. The Republicans had gotten lazy [evidenced by the bloat in government spending] because they have been able to shout down the Liberal Socialist Left for years (thankfully in many cases though).
No, I still don’t like the Liberal Socialist Left party having ANY control in this government, but it is the way the founding fathers set it all up - and they were a hellva lot smarter than some of the people we vote in.
Also with them in power, their shenanigans are now out in the open for everyone to see.
So who won the other night at the House Battle Royale? The American People. (…and thankfully not the illegals!!)
