Stupid Criminal? Yes; Murderer? No

July 31st, 2007 · 2 Comments · News

We all know by now about the horrible events from Phoenix, AZ were two helicopters covering a police chase crashed mid-air and all aboard died.

Word out is now the person being chased by police might be charged with their murder.

(blink blink)

(scratching head)

How can they justify that?  I mean, lets think logically on this now.  This person committed a crime and was being chased by the police - on the ground.  The news media in their frenzy to put all news that is bad or sensational on air, rush to the scene in news vans and their trusty helicopters.   Said airborne reporters spend their time following the events on the ground and not what they are doing, ie: flying, and crash.

Explain to me how this is the guy on the ground’s fault?

He did not force them in to their choppers.

He did not require them to fly alone so that one person could pay attention to the flying and the other to the unfolding events on the ground.

This. Is. Not. His. Fault

It is the fault of the news people flying the helicopters who didn’t have the good sense god gave a goose to be safe in the air.  They didn’t “have” to follow the chase in that fashion.  It was the station’s choice to put their reporter in the air, not the criminal on the ground.  He has nothing to do with the choices made by the reporter/pilot.

This is about someone not wanting to own up to the events that occurred, but blame someone else, because its easier to do that.

This man should not be charged with the deaths of these two pilots.  The fault of this crash lands squarely on the pilots shoulders alone.

I can see their ‘logic’ as it were… in that if the suspect had not fled, there would have been no chase and those choppers would not have been covering said chase that ended in a crash.

Of course, if the suspect’s Mom and Dad had not had sex on that one particular instance, there would have been no perp. If Igor Sikorsky had just not invented that dern rotary winged eggbeater… and if Henry Ford had been tinkering with, say… wood burning stoves and not cars… there would have been no car for the suspect that was never born to flee in and be chased by those helicopters that never flew…

    Whew!

I think people need to just take more responsibility for their actions and sometimes it is just an “accident”.
