No matter what you thought about what her and her ex-husband did, or that she wore way too much make-up, this women loved God. She had a beautiful singing voice and today she adds hers to the choirs in heaven.

| Messner had battled colon cancer since 1996 that more recently spread to her lungs. She died peacefully Friday at her home near Kansas City, Mo., said Joe Spotts, her manager and booking agent. |
| A family service was held Saturday in a private cemetery, where her ashes were interred, he said. |

Oh, wow….I was just watching a TV interview with her on Friday. I guess it had to be pre-taped? Or they were showing it because she had passed away, although it didn’t say that on the screen. She looked so drawn and thin, but still had that makeup on. I kinda admired her for that, despite everything.

One of the blogs had a clip from that interview. My heart broke to watch it and finally had to cut it off. I knew she’d been fighting this for some time now.
