Blog Reminder: The SOTD will discontinue on July 1st.

Not only is the Amnesty bill dead, the Fairness Doctrine has bit the dust too. The people of “America” have spoken.   All three panel members talking heads on Special Report last night blamed talked radio for getting “the people” stirred up.  Damn straight.  If it hadn’t been for talk radio and the blogosphere, “the people” wouldn’t know what is going on in Washington half the time. 

We should move Congress out of Washington and stick it in middle-america.  Require 5 day work weeks, 8-5 each day with an hour for lunch.  They must report to the “country” every month on air, without the press being there.  Their websites must be updated with when they are not at “work” and why.   Their staff will be cut by half, forcing your representative to read the bills they are voting on instead of some staffer who has an agenda.   And they only get paid for the days they work.  Kinda sounds like a normal work-place doesn’t it? 

Tre mentioned yesteday, and I’ve read it around the last 24 hours, that maybe the Liberals Democrats winning in ‘06 was a good thing.  Now that I have thought about it – she’s right.  The Republicans were getting lazy.  They didn’t have to fight for anything because they had control and they had stopped listening to “us”.  Yes, I think this is a good thing. 

Going to be interesting to hear what Rush, Laura and Sean have to say about all this today.

The daily Specials will end today.   Replacement?  Nah – but now I won’t have to race home to find something to post, or get up a half hour earlier than normal to find something.  The Weekend Specials will continue though – for now.
