Monday Blatherings 5/14

We are getting use to having a young pup in the house finally. We purchased a great doggy gate that fits in our 5′ opening between the living room and kitchen, so its much easier to deal with 2 dogs; one high-strung and one mello. On suggestion from bro-in-law, we also got a calming liquid to put in Roscoe’s water to “chill” him out some. It is all natural and works great. He’s not doped up, just a bit less hyper. The bigger issue is that Bubba isn’t really eating like he should and although he could afford to lose some weight, it concerns me. The SGM say I “over think” stuff. Oh well. They are our children.
On the news front, a question.
- Is it going to take the death of a “prominent” person in this country for people to wake up to the fact terrorists are here and its because of the illegals problems?
As long as those in Washington do not fear harm from them, or aren’t directly affected by them, they won’t do diddly about our borders.

We have a poodle… he’s a bit neurotic anyway but when we got the parakeet, he went into a nose dive… he wouldn’t eat and just frumped around like a stuffed toy.
The vet said that… unofficially of course, pets can be just like children… like when a new arrival (a baby sibling) makes them feel displaced, they can act out their emotions by behaving strangely.
The recommendation was to make a point of reassuring our dog that he was still important by paying some extra attention to him… and giving him extra treats and such.
I thought it was a lot of over-think at the time too… but we followed the advice and the dog came out of his funk in a matter of a few days.
So while our human younguns are now mostly grown, we still have two to go lol!!
