Weekend Specials 4/28-4/29

I sucked in high school. Even trying as hard as I could, a C+ to a B- was the best I could do. My sister below me had no problems and my youngest sister did about as well as I did. Sure we graduated, but neither of us went on to college on our grades that’s for sure. BUT – through all the madness of high school, I never once considered cheating. Now the technology we have is making it easier and easier than the notes on the hat brim or taped on the bottom of your shoe. First cell-phones, now iPods. I don’t have an iPod so I’m not sure how one works or how it could help in school, but kids … if you’re smart enough to figure out how to cheat, you’re smart enough to pass the test with a bit of studying don’t'cha think?
The Irish Government evidently has determined that the short cuts we use to txt msg is causing teen illitercy. Sounds like a co-op to poor school systems, but then I don’t live there either.
Sunday Update
Here are some columns to read:
Ann Coulter: “Nuts in the Crosshairs”
Debra J. Saunders: “Neverland”
Oliver North: “Losers”
If Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is right, nearly 60 percent of Americans agree with him that the war in Iraq is already lost. And if he is correct in saying that losing the war will increase Democrat majorities in future elections, then it may be fair to conclude that Americans now love losers. I’m not buying any of it — and neither are the troops who are fighting this war.
