Second Date

rose.gifHe arrives at her place promptly at 6:30. Dressed in his best suit, with a fresh shave, he picks up the flower from the front seat. He hopes she’s blinded by his powerful stature to miss the fact he bought it at the local gas station, replacing the cheap plastic with tissue paper left over from his last birthday present. Have to recycle don’t ya know.

He’s never been to this part of town before, but his body guards are in the SUV down the road. Making a good impression is important - to get what he wants.  At her front door he lights up with a bright smile when she answers.

She’s apprehensive; having been down this road before.

He worries she will be able to tell it is all a faced.

They start with chit chat as they drive to the unfamiliar restaurant. It’s her town, but he tries not to flinch at the accomodations. There is no doorman or fancy concierge, but at least the place is clean.

She fidgets with her bracelet - will he be the one?

He starts his talk; flowery words and some promises. The claims he makes of things to come she’s heard before - from a different quarter of his family. But she listens and is, as hoped, blinded by his carefully crafted presentation. Can he really win her over?

As the night goes on, he sees that his presentation is working. He smiles to himself. If all goes as planned, the catch will be complete and she won’t even know she was being used until the morning light.

Sounds like the beginning of another Nora Roberts romance? Well not quite; since I don’t have a bit of the talent she does. But try this - replace “he” with Hillary Clinton and “she” with The Black Vote.

Why is it that the Dems are able to visit the Souhthern towns, and churchs, during elections, but run back to their big cities as fast as they can when they’ve sucked in their prey? Not all black voters are blinded anymore by the Clintons - but I’m afraid there are still enough to be fooled by her and her fake caring.

This is war folks.

Our country is at stake.

Don’t be bought by cheap flowers and flowery words.
