My week really didn’t start out well, as I noted here.   But now the end of the week is looking up.

Turns out to be a “massive” infection.  My face was very swollen on the right side, but antibiotics are wonderful - as is Hydrocodone

Went to the Endodontist yesterday; who I’ve been to before on a repair job to an old root canal.  This man is flat out amazing and has a gift from God. 

First thing on the agenda is get this gal numb — snort.  Not so fast there buckwheat.  I may take a shot of insulin once a day, but its no where near the tender area of the mouth!!!  Okay, okay — I know it has to be done, but this part of my mouth is way past the tender stage into the upper stratosphere of tender+pain due to the infection.  One touch of that wonderful needle sent this wimp in to a cascade of tears.  Poor guy.  Nurse Donna whipped out the ever ready box of kleenex and let me blubber.  Again we try and it is just way to painful.  So, we go from the backside of the tooth — into the other realm of tender in the mouth.  Okay - you get the point.  Getting me numb was a major accomplishment to say the least, but eventually through tears and kleenex, it worked.  Best I’d felt in days.

He managed to get to the bad area that was causing all the problems, but finishing it was not in the cards.  Too  much infection.  So he got what he could and sent me home. 

This morning the swelling is down even more and I don’t feel like I’ve been in a back alley fight.  We finish it up next week.

God, in my next life remember I’ve been through the bad teeth part already.
