Nancy, Nancy, Nancy … such lies

Saturday, 18 November 2006, 8:29

:noway: You said, “[Democrats] intend to lead the most honest, the most open and the most ethical Congress in history.”

So can you explain why you are planning on putting into a leadership position, on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, an impeached federal judge?

Now how is that part of an “honest, open and ethical” Congress?

But then again, you did support John “Abscam” Murtha.

What is your definition of “honest, open and ethical” Ms. Nancy “San Francisco Values” Pelosi?

If you really want to hold up to what you said, then impeached Federal Judge Alcee L. Hastings wouldn’t even been on your radar.

Didn’t you participate in the vote to have him impeached?

Marc Sheppard notes at Real Clear Politices, in a column titled: Pelosi, Hastings and the Future of House Democrats notes:

In 1981, then-Judge Hastings and attorney William Borders Jr. were indicted for conspiring to solicit bribes from two convicted racketeers in exchange for probationary sentences and restoration of forfeited assets. Borders was convicted and imprisoned the following year while Hastings was ultimately acquitted in 1983. However, 4 years later a panel of fellow federal judges ruled that Hastings had lied under oath and manufactured evidence during the trial. The panel recommended his impeachment to Congress. The following year, the House overwhelmingly (413-3) abided their advice. The evidence was so compelling that the Senate wasted no time–voting 69-26 to convict and remove him from office.

[...]

Pelosi, herself, was among those Democratic House members voting to impeach the disgraced judge in 1988.

Uh?

Folks if this doesn’t peg the stupid meter completely out, nothing does.  Clearly the liberal soon-to-be-speaker of the house has a different dictionary and values training than a majority of this country does.  What does this also say about the people who voted for the liberal take over of congress?  Are these the type of “honest” values running through our country now?

Nancy has done a John Kerry flip-flop folks.  When it was the “right thing” to do, she voted to have Rep. William Jefferson removed from his Ways and Means Committe post when his frozen funds were, er … thawed out in the light of an investigation into briberis.

June, 2006:

Members of the rank and file approved the move after Jefferson refused for weeks to step aside on his own, and despite claims by some members of the Congressional Black Caucus that he was being treated unfairly.

Officials said the vote was 99-58. The action must be ratified by the full House, and Jefferson left open the possibility that he might at long last relent and surrender the seat on his own. “I don’t want to speculate,” he said.

The session marked the culmination of a drive by the Democratic leader, Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, to take action against the embattled Louisiana lawmaker, who maintains his innocence and has not been indicted.

“This is not about a court of law. This is about a higher ethical standard, and you know when it isn’t being met,” she told reporters several hours before the meeting.

So you removed one fox from the hen house Nancy, but are willing to put a more dangerous one back in charge of it.

Something smells here … really, really smells.

Nothing will change in Congress, doesn’t matter which party. They all want their perks.

Funny thing is, this stuff has been going on since the first government ever, and won’t stop, yet the media and American public is always shocked when it does.

It would be nice if it would go away, but, its government. And Dems will not change it.
