This week, Pelosi, Dean and Conyers have all said “No Impeachment”. 

But can we really believe them this close to their win? Or are they just mouthing the words with their fingers crossed behind their backs; hoping in our funk from the loss on the 7th we’d actually BELIEVE their lying asses?

Sean Hannity made a valid point on yesterday’s show:  If their statements are real, then Bill H.Res.635 must be withdrawn.

H.RES.635 Title: Creating a select committee to investigate the Administration’s intent to go to war before congressional authorization, manipulation of pre-war intelligence, encouraging and countenancing torture, retaliating against critics, and to make recommendations regarding grounds for possible impeachment.

This is still out there in the House Committee … the House the liberals now control. 

If what they are saying to the media is true — then H.Res.635 MUST be scrapped for us to really believe them.  

Howard Dean to Jon Stewart:

NEW YORK — Appearing on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” tonight, Democratic Party chief Howard Dean told host Jon Stewart, “I know half your audience wants us to impeach the president”– this drew wide cheers — “but it’s not going to happen.“  Source: Post-Tribune 11/11/2006.

John Conyers himself has stated impeachment is “off the table”:

WASHINGTON — Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., presumed to become chairman of the House Judiciary Committee in January, said Thursday that impeachment of President Bush “is off the table.”

   “In this campaign, there was an orchestrated right-wing effort to distort my position on impeachment,” Conyers said in a statement released by his Judiciary Committee spokesman. “The incoming speaker (Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.) has said that impeachment is off the table. I am in total agreement with her on this issue: Impeachment is off the table.” Source: Newhouse A1 11/10/2006

If that is true Mr. Conyers — take H.Res.635 out of committee and can it completely. Can you do that?  Can a leopard change its spots? We did not distort anything about your bill — it’s in black and white.  You wanted to, and still do want to, impeach President Bush.  It may be off the table NOW; but when you have the power to bring it back up, you will – in January.

Nancy Pelosi herself has said no to impeachment:

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi promised Wednesday that when her party takes over, the new majority will not attempt to remove President Bush from office, despite earlier pledges to the contrary from others in the caucus.

Pelosi also said Democrats, despite complaining about years of unfair treatment by the majority GOP, “are not about getting even” with Republicans. Source: New York Slimes 11/08/2006

These are the things they are saying, and even promising — but actions speak louder than words.

Show us, your country, that you really mean what you say.  H.Res.635 needs to go away and never return.

Watch folks.  When they have their hands on the rudder in January, H.Res.635 is NOT gone folks, just tucked away for now.
