Unapology Apology ?!?
Confused …. so is John “I Botched a Joke” Kerry:
“As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop,” Kerry said in a statement published on his Web site.
Okay good start, but then you screw it up again….
Kerry said he regrets that his words “were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.”
Useless .. and done on his website and not at a set of mikes, like he did yesterday when he refused to apologize:
At a hastily arranged news conference in Seattle, Kerry said: “I apologize to no one for my criticism of the president and of his broken policy.”
Kerry said the comment in question was “a botched joke about the president and the president’s people, not about the troops … and they know that’s what I was talking about.”
Oh trust me on this Mr. Kerry … the troops knew exactly WHO you were talking about — and it wasn’t the President and his policies.
Your 1960s belief that only those people uneducated will enter the military because they aren’t smart enough to get a “draft deferment” fit right into your backwards, out of this era, thinking.
Pssst – there isn’t a draft anymore; anyone can go in the military – its voluntary.
Take Imus’ advice – just go away.
