So I’ve been kind of busy spending money right and left, okay only to the right
, but here is the best spent money so far. Yes, I know this was my desire, but having hardwood flooring put in the living room was a dream of both the SGM and I.
We hired local, Army boys to do the job. These guys are in my husband’s conus unit and keeping the money in the community and the family is always the best thing to do.
Combat Builders, owned by Jason and Justin, put in the floor for us. They even let me go with them to Home Depot to pick out the color. Yes, two very brave soldiers would normally fear taking a women shopping, but I wasn’t too hard on them.
Look at the great job they did! Starting on Saturday morning and finishing up today. They had to stop for a military function I bowed out of, or I’m sure 95% of it would have been done Saturday. This is 425 square feet. They removed the old carpet and prepped the floor Friday night and then got to work Saturday morning.

This is from the front door area looking into our kitchen. Yes, that is my old furniture that is going away tomorrow - as I also bought new of that too!

This is from the kitchen looking down one wall. See that rug, the SGM got us that in Afghanistan, handmade in Turkey.

I know this looks darker, but its the way the flash took it and no back lighting on my part. This goes from the living room to our two spare rooms and bathroom. Justin had a devil of a time getting the weird cuts right - but he wasn’t satisfied until it was right. No sloppy job here.

Around the fireplace evidently was Jason’s trouble spot, but I had flown the coop by the time they got to this point. You can see how beautiful it turned out though.
If you are in my local area, and you know who you are, and need some work done like this, or other remodeling work - I would highly recommend Combat Builders. Go see their site and other work they’ve done.
It was well worth giving up my time and space to have these results.

Beautiful!!! I have hardwood floors and love them - they are so much easier to keep clean and you don’t get all the germs that get hung up in carpeting.
I just love your floors - great job!
