I agree totally with you. In a similar fit, I wrote <a href="http://lorelle.wordpress.com/2006/05/21/you-must-be-logged-in-to-comment/" title="You Must Be Logged In To Comment" rel="nofollow">"You Must Be Logged In To Comment"</a> hoping to help others understand that if they want comments on their blogs, then they better make making comments easy. Good for you to point this out. After all, why should you go through the hassle of signing up for something you don't want in order to do someone a small favor by commenting on their blog? Dumb! Hopefully others will get the hint.

I do believe that it only takes some minor tweaking to a Blogger site to allow visitors to have the option of clicking 'other' and then enter a name and web addy... without the addition of having a Blogger account.

I agree with Jo (though I already do have a Blogger account from the old Sin City site). If you want traffic and you want comments, you're gonna have to allow folks to come in and take part freely.

I have registered at sites, yes, but very few .. but eblogger forces you to create a blog in order to comment. I don't need, or want, anything else out there on the net, no matter what I call it. I just feel that if a person wants comments they will make it as easy as possible for the vistor.

Wha? Well, whatever Christine.

I have a blogger account because while I was shopping around for blogs I tried it out. I never use it but think it's very annoying to have to sign up for a service you'll never use to comment on someone's site. It's just a bit too exclusive.
