Hear this — I REFUSE to sign up for Blogger so I can comment on a blog. If you can’t install Heloscan, or use eBlogger’s security features for your posters, then it is your loss.
So — consider how many people you are preventing from being contributors to your blog by limiting who can comment.
If this is your sole purpose though — put it on your blog somewhere so I can bypass you on the way to others.
Thank you.

Jo..she did have “some work” ..looks fabulous..can we see your picture..to see if you NEED some work??
Wha? Well, whatever Christine.
I have a blogger account because while I was shopping around for blogs I tried it out. I never use it but think it’s very annoying to have to sign up for a service you’ll never use to comment on someone’s site. It’s just a bit too exclusive.
I do believe that it only takes some minor tweaking to a Blogger site to allow visitors to have the option of clicking ‘other’ and then enter a name and web addy… without the addition of having a Blogger account.
I agree with Jo (though I already do have a Blogger account from the old Sin City site). If you want traffic and you want comments, you’re gonna have to allow folks to come in and take part freely.
WOOT and AMEN!!!!
But what is eBlogger? I have never heard of this before and I do have a blogger account.
I agree totally with you. In a similar fit, I wrote “You Must Be Logged In To Comment” hoping to help others understand that if they want comments on their blogs, then they better make making comments easy. Good for you to point this out. After all, why should you go through the hassle of signing up for something you don’t want in order to do someone a small favor by commenting on their blog? Dumb! Hopefully others will get the hint.
YES!!!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels that way.
If I have to go through too many steps to comment … fogetaboutit.
