They Would Go Back

by Jo | August 15th, 2006

I believe the one thing that just pisses off the loony left is that our military folks - those they are wanting brought home - counterdict everything they say by wanting to “go back” to Iraq or Afghanistan.  How can these military people want the opposite of what the loony left wants “for” them?

Despite the hardships, [Lt. Col. Danny] Mclendon, a Montgomery native who also served in Afghanistan in 2002, said he would be willing to go back if called upon to do so.

His sentiments were echoed by seven other Alabama soldiers from different branches of the military who were invited to eat lunch Tuesday with Gov. Bob Riley. All eight said they remained committed to the mission to fight terrorism and were convinced that the United States would prevail in Iraq.

“We’re the United States fighting forces,” said Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Michael P. Drake, who returned from Iraq in 2003. “I think if people stay out of our business and let us fight the fight, we’ll get the job done.”

All eight soldiers said they would willingly go back into combat, but some were more eager than others.

  1. Hey Jo,
Perhaps these military folks did not get the memo. You know, the one where the libs tell them what they want. You know that the libs speak for the average guy so they must know what they are talking about.

The real problem is that the libs do not understand the world and they certainly do not understand the military mind. Those three words sum it up but the libs will do anything to get back in power including lie about our troops and their mission.

Our men and women understand, they get it, and they do not need the likes of Murtha and Pelosi telling them what it is they want.

Maybe if the politicians listen to the part about leaving them alone and let them do their jobs we can be done with this in short order.

My best to you and the family. Salute to the Top.

  2. I believe that soldiers and their families, no matter what their political affiliation - just get it! They understand sacrifice and the impact their service has on the world. They are so beyond the “me me me” mentality.

  3. “The other side” always thinks it knows best. We should simply be quiet and let them think for us.

Yes, must be frustrating when the troops these people claim to support want to complete a mission that the left wants to halt.

  4. What is so scary is they, the loony left, don’t LISTEN to everyone because they believe we are so stupid we cannot make decisions for ourselves … even though most of us can chew bubble gum and walk at the same time.
