What Does One Do…

… when you dread looking at your blog because you have one commenter and more hits from sex, porn, and poker sites than real readers?

… when you create a post but can’t find the energy to bother posting because you think it sounds so stupid it’s going to run off the one commenter you do have!

You take a break.

I don’t know how long, but probably not more than a week. I am not educated enough to blog about the events in the middle east, I get too angry sometimes to post about the abuse of our wonderful soldiers, and NOBODY bothers with even the one post a week I do on diabetes. I need to get my head back in the game, so I need to rest.

Oh I’ll still be around, just not beating myself over the head with self-imposed blogging goals that now need adjusting after a year and half. The Specials will be up as Open Track Backs, but I’m setting them all up this afternoon and walking away from the computer for a while.

So :wavey: see you in a bit dudes and dudettes!

I know how you feel! There seems to be a lot of popular bloggers that makes some of us feel obsolete, but we all have things to contribute. Most blogs seem to regurgitate the same old stuff over and over…. yours is definitely unique.

I think you have more to say than you give yourself credit for. I’m bad about reading and not commenting. I’m trying to be better – I know how much I like commenters, but I tend to be a little shy about commenting in other ppl’s blogs.

Nothing can sound more stupid than what one reads at the Democratic Underground, and that doesn’t keep them from posting. Don’t feel as if you have to have something on a schedule and don’t make a post if you’re not inspired. Sometimes, it helps just to reference an article with one or two sentences and let the comments come from that. Hang in there.

You do the same thing that the rest of us do: you keep writing. If writing makes you happy, keep doing it. People are reading, whether we comment all of the time, or not. Take a break and get back to work! Cheers!

I just love ya Jo. I took a little break myself this summer. I’m glad I have guest contributors so I can take a blog sabbatical from time to time. Do something nice for yourself!
